10 Maleficent

This Maleficent cosplay is almost better than the real Maleficent. This look is all about the drama because cosplayer Nelia Mim doesn’t really push the envelope when it comes to the makeup or the facial prosthetics. Many Maleficent cosplayers go for fake cheekbones or jaws, but this version tries to achieve the super sharp cheekbones with plain old contouring, and it is effective.
Of course, Mim’s most efficient accessory is the baby (is that a mini Maleficent?). She also puts her own spin on the costume with a basic black shirt and a leather vest, which works really well.

This Cruella glow-up is so real because it’s really simple; there are too many options when it comes to channeling Cruella, which is why it’s one of the most popular go-to cosplay get-ups. A cosplayer can go for short or long hair, while they can pick a full-on fur look or do something minimalistic.
But cosplayer Martyna Marcinkowska keeps it classic and neat with an all-fur costume (which really is the best option for a fur-obsessed Cruella ensemble), not-too-garish makeup, red gloves, and a classic black and white short bob. It’s detailed but not extensive and comes across as kind of effortless.

German cosplayer Lin Chan has been on both sides of the Disney spectrum; she’s been Snow White and she’s been the evil stepmother. While the former is good, the cosplayer aces the dark side.
There is a lot of room to improvise an Evil Queen cosplay because she is one of the Disney villains whose look has never been too publicized. So, cosplayers can bring in more colors and style their costumes; Lin does a great job because it’s really well-planned. There’s just the perfect color-blocking and the apple prop is just the icing on the cake.

Ursula is the only Disney villain who’s actually allowed to have fun. Therefore, it’s always great when an Ursula cosplay look is spirited and lively, as it matches the entertaining and hilarious tonality of the character. Which is why Wind-Prinzessin’s look fits perfectly.
The look has an element of punk, it’s cool and even has a dark-but-beachy vibe. She even has some funky squid-like extensions on her dress, while the location adds a lot to the overall photo’s authenticity.

One might think Mother Gothel is among the easiest cosplay to pull off, but that’s not true. The main antagonist of Tangled is an old vicious crone who is desperate about retaining her youth and actually keeps Rapunzel hostage in her tower.
Cosplayer Ellumiel Excanto perfectly captures the wicked, sardonic energy Gothel exudes. Her costume is stunning and accurate, and the curls are gorgeous as well. This cosplay’s brilliance is hardly surprising because Ellumiel has a lot of experience when it comes to Disney, as she has cosplayed everyone from Cinderella to Snow White.

While Luke Evans pulled off arguably the greatest Gaston cosplay ever in the Beauty and the Beast live-action movie, French cosplayer Draumrkopa comes pretty close. The best thing about his costume is, obviously, the attention to detail.
Gaston cosplays often amount to nothing more than a red shirt, slacks, and a wig; however, Draumrkopa goes the full mile with his britches and boots, a great wig and the perfect smug expression to go with it; the entire mood of the edit is also really incredible.

French cosplayer and costume designer Dothy Trunks has a lot of experience cosplaying popular anti-heroines, including Cersei and Catwoman. That said, her Lady Tremaine cosplay may be one of her finest.
In fact, Dothy made some improvisations to the costume and revealed on Instagram that it was made with recycled fabrics since she was on a short budget. She managed to bring out the nasty and fiendish spirit associated with Cinderella’s stepmother, and the makeup is so perfectly garish!

Cosplayer Hassan’s Jafar cosplay has a flawless costume that is sharp, elaborate and exquisitely detailed, which he showcased at the Middle East Film & Comic-Con. He used prosthetics makeup for the cheekbones but the rest of it is just incredible makeup.
While the makeup is fantastic, the biggest asset has to be the costume; from the flying shoulder pads to the color blocking to his jeweled turban, Hassan B aced all of it. He also wins extra brownie points for the lamp and snake props.

It’s shocking how often Davy Jones gets dropped from Disney villains’ hall of fame; an immortal sea captain with several octopus limbs and miscellaneous marine life creatures on his face, who also commands the Kraken? What could possibly be fiercer?
Instagram’s popular cosplayer Joo Skellington aced a Davy Jones cosplay for the 2018 Comic-Con. Everything about his unbelievably detailed look is perfect, be it the facial extensions, the costume or the lobster hand. Interestingly, he used SFX from the same company which supplied prosthetic materials for the actual Pirates of the Caribbean movie!
