The end of Harry Potter’s saga proved to be bittersweet for the many fans who followed his journey at Hogwarts, answering our questions yet leaving us to bid adieu to our favorite characters. Fred and George Weasley, for instance. The mischievous twins gave us some of the biggest laughs in the series, but they were also the source of some of our tears, particularly with the sad loss of Fred during the Battle of Hogwarts.

J.K. Rowling has answered many fan questions regarding the fate of her characters following the events at the Battle of Hogwarts, since the book only reveals the future of a handful of main characters. Here are some of the things we learned about the Weasley twins.

10 George Got Married

Remember how Fred Weasley was attracted to Angelina Johnson, his fellow Quidditch player at Hogwarts? He even took her to the Yule Ball at school. After Fred passed, Angelina and George must have become close, close enough to eventually marry and started a family. A former team captain and member of Dumbledore’s Army, Angelina was strong and popular, and she enjoyed calling out Oliver Wood when he refereed to his teammates as “men” or “lads.”

It would seem that the twins’ best friend, Lee Jordan, also had a crush on Angelina, as he remarked during a Quidditch match, “Angelina Johnson of Gryffindor — what an excellent Chaser that girl is, and rather attractive too.”

9 They Became Uncles Several Times Over

While the loss of Fred Weasley during the Second Wizarding War has devastated fans, Fred would have loved to have known that he became an uncle when so many of his siblings had children following the series. In addition to his twin’s two children, his sister, Ginny, had three children with Harry Potter, named James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. His brother, Ron, had two children with Hermione Granger: Rose and Hugo.

Even Percy, who married a woman named Audrey, had two daughters, Molly and Lucy. Bill and Fleur had three children as well, and because Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin’s son, Teddy, became super close to the family, Fred would have enjoyed the young Metamorphagus’s company as well.

8 They Help At Charity Events

Most recently, James Phelps has asked fans to join him in a cycling event in the French Alps in order to raise money for a Windsor hospice. The athletic actor, who has gone sky diving and completed a Three Peaks Challenge, will ride alongside those who pay to participate in the challenge.

7 George Had A Daughter Named Roxanne

There’s not a whole lot that we know about Roxanne Weasley. She is the second child of George and Angelina, and younger sister to “Fred II.” Fans learn about Roxanne first through the documentary J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life, but there is also a small amount of information about the witch on the Pottermore website.

Fans like to speculate that Roxanne might be a Quidditch player, since both of her parents were talented athletes. Also, seeing that J.K. Rowling often chooses names with significance, some wonder if the name was selected based on the play Cyrano de Bergerac, or perhaps Alexander the Great’s first wife. Of course, George and Angelina may have simply liked the name.

6 George Named His First Son After His Lost Twin

George named his first child in honor of his lost twin, a theme that runs in many families in the Harry Potter series. Even Harry Potter named one of his kids “Albus Severus,” combining the names of two lost Hogwarts headmasters who gave their lives to save the wizarding world. “Fred II,” as fans refer to George and Angelina’s son, is their firstborn child.

Born in the 2000s, Fred II makes an appearance at the 2014 World Cup and is mentioned in the documentary J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life. Details about him are also given on the Pottermore website.

5 They Attended The Harry Potter Celebration

In 2014, fans went gaga over the Harry Potter Celebration in Orlando, Florida, where several of the Harry Potter actors made appearances. The three-day event was an expo of all things Harry Potter, from wands to experiencing the Sorting Hat ceremony and everything in between. The first event served to highlight the opening of Diagon Alley at the popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios theme park.

In addition to James and Oliver Phelps, stars Evanna Lynch, Matthew Lewis, and Devon Murray also attended. They respectively played Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom and Seamus Finnegan in the series.

4 They Appeared In Several Productions, Both Together And Separately

Following their career as the Weasley twins, James and Oliver Phelps had hoped to continue acting, but not necessarily together. They have always expressed a desire to be seen as individuals rather than a matching set, and much of their post-Potter work has reflected this wish. James worked on the projects Ward 3 and The Turn, while Oliver worked on Ears without his brother.

Most recently, the brothers have appeared in the TV movie Danny and the Human Zoo as Brian and Barry Carter. Prior to that, the two made guest appearances on King of the Nerds, starred in the short film Hogwarts Express and played constables in Own Worst Enemy.

3 George Ran Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes With Ron’s Help

Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, the joke shop that Fred and George created together instead of finishing their final years at Hogwarts, was an instant success. It came after years of the twins creating new spells and jokes, testing products and marketing on Hogwarts students and generally learning to be successful businessmen. While Harry may have helped with the funding, the two were destined to succeed, with their flair for business, popularity and fun personalities.

After the devastating loss of his best friend, brother and business partner, George was left to run the store alone. Luckily, his younger brother Ron stepped in to help him manage the booming business, making the two closer.

2 Both Got Married In Real Life

It’s kind of weird to imagine who Fred might have married had he survived the Battle of Hogwarts, because it would probably have been his brother’s eventual wife. But Oliver and James Phelps have both gotten married since then, the former in 2015 to Katy Humpage and the latter a year later to Annika Ostle.

They also keep a little bit of that Harry Potter magic alive, by remaining close friends with several of their costars. Since the series has ended, the brothers have remained friends with Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Daniel Radcliffe and Matthew Lewis, who respectively played their brother Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom in films.

1 George Never Got Over Losing Fred

As anyone who has ever lost someone they are close to knows, it’s impossible to ever fully get over the loss of someone as close as a child or sibling. J.K. Rowling, who has previously stated that the twins were among her favorite characters, even said, “Well, I don’t think that George would ever get over losing Fred, which makes me feel so sad.” But that doesn’t mean that he never finds happiness.

In the documentary J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life, the author drew a family tree of the Weasleys and explained, “A lot of readers ask me: was George all right? And of course he wouldn’t be all right, would he? That’s the reality. But I think that he married Angelina, who was actually Fred’s ex. Maybe it’s a bit unhealthy, but I think that they would have been happy; as happy as he could be without Fred. I think he really would have felt like part of himself died.”
