The upcoming Batman Beyond #45 will continue the unlikely team up between Terry McGinnis and Damian Wayne as they work together to prevent Gotham’s ice age. Despite their differences, it will be up to the pair to preserve the city that Bruce once worked so hard to protect.
While one might assume that the son of Bruce Wayne would be good pals with anyone Bruce takes on as a replacement, this is actually quite far from the truth. This is because Damian leads one of Batman’s greatest adversaries, the League of Assassins, not to mention the fact that he simply just doesn’t think his dad is replaceable. However, when Goliath, Damian’s pet bat-dragon, shows up, Terry quickly discovers that Damian is in danger, and that their issues must be put aside for the greater good.
After rushing Damian back to the Batcave and saving his life, much like Damian once saved his, Terry has learned that the young Wayne is no longer the leader of the League of Assassins. It turns out that Mr. Zero, a former acolyte of Ra’s Al Ghul has taken charge, and plans to unleash his new army upon Gotham. Although the two have never quite gotten along, Terry and Damian’s bond to Bruce connects the two as almost pseudo-step brothers, and allows them to temporarily join forces to tackle this massive threat. Despite the fact that in the past, the pair have entered into deadly combat… as brothers occasionally do, from time to time.
As confirmed in DC’s June comic solicitations, the issue is set to release June 24th, 2020. The comic is written by Dan Jurgens, art by Sean Chen, and cover by Dan Mora, with a variant cover by Francis Manapul. Readers can check out the unbelievable cover art and solicitation details below:

- Batman Beyond and Damian Wayne are going to have to join forces in order to stop Mr. Zero and his radical faction from turning Gotham City into an ice-covered hellscape. Damian will have to put his disrespect for the “pretender” that is Batman Beyond aside if they’re going to stop this mutual foe—and even then Mr. Zero’s power and influence might prove too much for this pair!
