In the lead-up to the release of Warner Bros.’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, anticipation levels have gradually continued to rise upwards. Now with less than a month to go before the big fight arrives in theatres everywhere, fans seem more confident than ever this movie will deliver in a big way.

With ticket pre-sales to begin Monday, February 29 at 7 AM PT, tracking analysts can use data from those advance sales to better ascertain whether or not Batman V Superman meets previous expectations. At present, BvS’ box office forecast is at an impressive domestic weekend opening of $154 million.

The general confidence of fans in Batman V Superman’s quality is perhaps best reflected in the recent decision of Regal Entertainment Group to issue an unlimited ticket. For $100, fans will be able to purchase the Regal Ultimate Ticket, allowing them unlimited admission to Batman V Superman for the movie’s entire run in all Regal theaters.

The anodized 0.5mm black stainless steel card showcases a laser-cut Batman symbol with a Superman glyph at its centre, which is visible on both sides and colorized on the card’s front. Recipients will receive their cards with their name permanently inscribed on the back and will be required to show proof of ID upon arrival at the theater – meaning the cards are not transferable. The card is also accepted for all Batman V Superman theatrical formats, so fans will be able to use it entirely in RPX or IMAX presentations, should they so desire. Only 1,000 of the cards have been produced and all will officially expire on September 24, 2016.

Initially, the idea of a card that allows audiences to gain unlimited access to such a highly anticipated movie is a pretty intriguing prospect. However, it doesn’t take long to realize there’s a pretty massive elephant in the room here – what if Batman V Superman is a dud? Imagine back in 1997, spending $100 for an unlimited ticket to see Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin because you were so convinced that it would be amazing. For people with money to burn, this is no big deal, but for others, doling out $100 on a movie sight unseen is a bit of a gamble.

If however, Batman V Superman coincides with the expectations of fans and analysts alike and becomes a massive hit, then perhaps unlimited access would be a real treat. At the very least, fans come away with the personalised, collectible card – something that some will see as justification enough for the card’s $100 price tag.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016, which is followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017; The Flash on March 16, 2018; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps. on June 19, 2020.
