The Book of Boba Fett Empire cover gives a more detailed look at the Star Wars character’s weapons and costume. The upcoming Fett-centric Disney+ show sees the famed bounty hunter taking on a whole new challenge as the inheritor of Jabba the Hutt’s underworld empire.
Boba Fett of course was supposed to be dead after falling into the Sarlacc during the epic early moments of Return of the Jedi. But The Mandalorian ultimately revealed that Fett did not in fact wind up being slowly digested for a thousand years in the belly of that particular beast. Indeed Boba Fett appeared to be better than ever as in season 2 of The Mandalorian he and his partner Fennec Shand aided Din Djarin in rescuing Grogu from the clutches of Moff Gideon. All this was of course just a prelude to Boba Fett’s own upcoming adventure, which promises to take the character in interesting new directions while serving up some more of Boba Fett’s previously unexplored backstory.
As fans anticipate the arrival of The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+, they can enjoy another new glimpse of their favorite former bounty hunter thanks to a fresh Empire Magazine cover that gives a more detailed look at Boba’s armor and weaponry. An alternate Empire cover also sees Boba Fett gazing upon Jabba the Hutt’s palace (which is now his palace) while Tatooine’s twin suns shine in the distance. See the covers in the space below:
Boba Fett’s look in the new show is obviously no reinventing of the wheel, which is understandable given how iconic the character is. It is however something of a reinvention to see Boba taking on a whole new profession in the Disney+ series, as he takes off his bounty hunter hat and instead becomes a crime boss. It remains to be seen how this new line of work will work out for Boba Fett but it’s safe to say that crossing him would not be a good idea, given his propensity for disintegrating people.
The Book of Boba Fett indeed seems to carry a certain burden of expectation as it becomes the second new live-action Star Wars show to kick off on Disney+. The Mandalorian was obviously a huge success but now Disney has to see if it can keep the ball rolling as it introduces more and more Star Wars content to their streaming service. Boba Fett is in some ways a safe character to tackle as he has a great following. But the new show is also set to change things up from the way Boba Fett was originally conceived, which seems like a little bit of a risk. The Book of Boba Fett releases on Disney+ on December 29, 2021.
