Every New Game And Announcement From April’s PlayStation State Of Play

Summer is just about to get underway, with PlayStation’s April State Of Play kicking things off. Today, we were given a glimpse of what’s in store for the PS5 (and PS4) in the coming months. This particular State of Play was devoted almost exclusively to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but Sony did have a couple of other titles (and surprises) to share.

Here’s a recap of everything that was shown off during PlayStation’s April 2021 State of Play.

Subnautica: Below Zero

Developer Unknown World showed off the sequel that takes place one year after 2014’s award-winning Subnautica. The PS5’s hardware, including the DualSense controller and its haptic feedback, will bring an added layer of immersion to keep you feeling the bitter cold of Planet 4546B as you rebuild your tools and shelter.

Subnautica: Below Zero will release on May 14 for PS4 and PS5. If you already own a physical or digital edition of the original game on PS4, you’ll be eligible to upgrade to the PS5 digital version for free.

Among Us

PlayStation users are (finally) looking a little bit sus. It’s been a long time coming, but Among Us will be released for both PS4 and PS5 later this year. In addition, the popular party game will launch with an exclusive Ratchet & Clank skin. Don’t expect Clank to perform your tasks for you, though.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Insomniac Games provided a far deeper dive into one of the most highly-anticipated PS5 games coming later this year, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The game’s platforming mechanics were shown off as Ratchet searches for Clank in the vertical, cyberpunk-style dimension of Nefarious City. We got to see some of Ratchet’s new moves, the combat mechanics in action, weapons arsenals, characters, and, of course, newcomer and playable character, Rivet. Surprising no one, it looks absolutely fun and beautiful.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch exclusively for PS5 on July 11.
