The popular battle royale game Fortnite has finally added a character skin of their most popular streamer, Ninja, after years of requests. Fortnite exploded in popularity a few years ago thanks in no small part to players like Ninja and many, many others who streamed the game online for fans to watch on services like Twitch. Although Ninja has since moved to Mixer, Microsoft’s own game streaming service, and Fortnite has gone through multiple different iterations and changes over the years, the fanbases for both seem to have only increased.

Recently, Fortnite Chapter 2 launched, giving players the ability to fish and swim as well as introducing new vehicles, weapons, and a new map. The game has continued to cement itself at the center of public discourse by having themed events tied in to various ongoing media promotions, and even the heavily-anticipated film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had an exclusive screening of one of their teaser trailers inside Fortnite’s world before the film premiered.

Now, Ninja has been officially inserted into the world of Fortnite for everyone to enjoy. According to Ninja’s Twitter page, the official Ninja Fortnite skin will be available in the Epic Store for players to purchase from 6PM CST on Thursday, January 16th through 7PM CST Sunday, January 21st. Ninja says this is a dream made reality for him, as the streamer has imagined having a personal skin in Fortnite since he started playing the game. You can check out his full message below:

I’ve dreamt of having a skin in Fortnite since I started playing the game. Today, my dream becomes reality. Get the Ninja Fortnite Skin in the Epic store Thursday 6 p.m. CST-Sunday 7 p.m. Don’t forget to use code NINJA! #NinjaSkin #EpicPartner pic.twitter.com/xTn9UlbkGI

As something which Ninja has discussed wanting before and his many, many fans agreeing (one going to far as to create a custom Ninja skin themselves) it’s nice to see the early online reactions being so positive. Ninja’s inclusion is part of Fortnite’s Icon Series, a new program which Epic Games’ official website calls a combination of “gaming, music, film, and fashion” which hopes to bring “the artistic vision, personality, and attitude of top creators to Fortnite.” Epic says this new Icon Series is based on previous collaborations Fortnite had with personalities like Marshmello and Major Lazer, and future content will include things from Loserfruit, The Grefg, and more.

Fortnite has been one of the most popular games in the world for a few years now, and the announcement of even more collaborations with other pop culture icons likely means the game won’t be going away any time soon. Although games like Fortnite and Minecraft are among the top platforms used by predators to prey on children, and Epic Games seems to be constantly involved with some sort of lawsuit, most recently about yet another stolen dance move, Fortnite still remains of the of top earners in the industry, and will likely remain that way for a few more years to come.
