Brand-new Easter eggs have been discovered in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, with numerous compelling ones being created with reused Grand Theft Auto V assets. The long-anticipated GTA trilogy remaster officially released on November 11 across consoles and PC, allowing nostalgic players to re-experience Rockstar’s three groundbreaking sandbox games – Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. While the trilogy release has been met with backlash due to performance and graphics problems, the new upgrades introduce changes such as increased draw distances, rebuilt lighting, reworked controls mirroring GTA 5, and other additions such as new cheat codes.

Throughout its history, Rockstar Games has implemented distinctive Easter eggs within each title of its roster, originally beginning with Grand Theft Auto on PS1 in 1997. Similar to GTA’s radio stations that host its iconic soundtracks and emblematic cheat codes, these hidden Easter eggs are an integral part of the Grand Theft Auto series and add a new layer of discoverability that has kept the franchise memorable for two decades. Players can spend countless hours exploring the game worlds and run across references to other games and movies, as well as callbacks to other titles in the Rockstar universe and unexpected strange breakthroughs – including ghosts, mythical creatures, cameos, and other intentionally well-hidden secrets that can leave players pondering.

Shared by popular Grand Theft Auto YouTuber ZacCoxTV, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition includes numerous new Easter eggs and secrets with some taken directly from Grand Theft Auto V. Found in Vice City’s North Point Mall, players can discover Michael De Santa’s prologue jacket and Trevor Philips’ comical dress in numerous storefronts. Meanwhile, a painting found in another storefront, which is also seen in CJ’s garage in San Andreas, resembles the same one that can be discovered in Michael’s home in Grand Theft Auto V. Models of Grand Theft Auto V’s superhero Impotent Rage, along with Trevor’s toy bear Rasberry Jam, can also be found in Zero’s shop in San Andreas.

Most oddly, San Andreas’s popular Lil’Probe’Inn location that previously featured several stock photos has now been completely replaced and updated with pictures of UFO sightings from Grand Theft Auto V. These framed photos depict UFO sightings from various locations from the latest entry in the series with no canonical confirmation and are used for pure enjoyment. However, some players believe that one specific picture could be from Grand Theft Auto 6, as it features an unsuspecting decorated house with graphics much better than Grand Theft Auto 5. Despite its discovery, the theory is purely based on fan speculation and no confirmation has yet been made by Rockstar Games.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition may be reusing multiple Grand Theft Auto V assets in the form of Easter eggs, but their inclusion has pleased lots of fans who are happy to see new additions to the games that aren’t graphical glitches or game-breaking bugs. Many players are unhappy with the quality of the collection, with lots of purchasers calling on Rockstar Games to refund copies of GTA Trilogy. The newly discovered Grand Theft Auto 5 Easter eggs could be significant as it means even more secrets may exist within each title, waiting to be discovered by curious players.
