Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and his wife, Lauren Sorrentino, are being mocked for their pregnancy photos. Both Mike and Lauren posted photos from their recent pregnancy shoot to their respective Instagram accounts. However, fans were not impressed by the awkward family photos.
After a year of trying to get pregnant following their miscarriage, Jersey Shore’s Mike and Lauren shared the exciting news that they are expecting their first child together in November of 2020. They were later seen making the announcement to the Jersey Shore cast while in Vegas in the latest season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. As Lauren is due to have their baby in May, the soon-to-be parents celebrated the upcoming birth of their son with an intimate baby shower at their New Jersey home earlier this month.
Although Jersey Shore’s Mike and Lauren were praised for their glow-up at the baby shower, they are now being mocked for their pregnancy photos. Despite not being able to agree on what exactly made the photo so awkward, Reddit users discussed all of the possible factors. Some wished that Lauren did the shoot alone. Mike looked quite uncomfortable as he stood beside his pregnant wife in the photos. Even their dog, Mosey, looked unimpressed in the photo. To add to the awkwardness, because of where Mosey is laying in the photo, at quick glance his paw looks like it is Lauren’s foot. One user joked that even their unborn son is questioning his parents’ photography choices from inside Lauren’s belly. Check out the photo Mike posted on Instagram below:

The overall aesthetic of the shoot felt very outdated, almost like it could have been taken in the early 2000’s. Many agreed that the backdrop looked like one used for elementary school photos. The most confusing part of the entire photo was that Lauren was topless. Fans did not understand why she chose not to wear a shirt as well as why her jeans were unzipped. While it would not have made the photo any less awkward, it would have made more sense if Mike was shirtless as well or if Lauren matched Mike in some type of white top. Considering that Lauren typically has a good sense of creativity and trends, her decision to take this approach to the shoot was quite shocking. The soon-to-be parents have already made some good choices regarding their son, such as their elegant baby shower and the decision to not allow Jersey Shore star Angelina Pivarnick to babysit; however, this photoshoot was an epic parenting fail.
While the majority consensus on the photo was primarily negative, some Jersey Shore fans did in fact stand up for Mike and Lauren. They praised the couple for documenting the beauty of pregnancy. They see nothing wrong with the photos. Some claim that the haters are just looking for things to bash the couple for. Jersey Shore’s Mike and Lauren looked great in the photos despite the awkwardness.
