Pete Davidson has reportedly shared his thoughts on Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum Kim Kardashian’s decision to remove ‘West’ from her last name. Recently, Kim and her estranged husband, Kanye West, were in the news amid their divorce. During his Larry Hoover Benefit Concert that Kim attended, Kanye took the time to send a message to her while performing his hit song “Runaway.” During the performance, Kanye changed the end of the lyrics to say, “Run right back to me, more specifically Kimberly.” Kanye’s act drew cheers from the audience as he made another attempt to win back Kim’s love. However, not long after Kanye’s plea to win her back, Kim made another bold move by filing to be officially single.
Reports revealed that the SKIMS founder’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed legal documents last Friday that, if granted, would make Kim officially a single woman. With her latest moves, Kim continues to show she has moved on from Kanye despite his public pleas. Since his and Kim’s separation, the rapper has publicly dated other women, including Irina Shayk and Vinetra but seems not to be over his ex-wife. On the other hand, Kim has focused on law school, work and family since the split. She also seems to have found love again with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. During her SNL debut in October, Kim and Pete connected and shared a kiss during a sketch. Their connection has grown since then, and they are reportedly dating. Besides that, Pete is not shy about sharing his thoughts about matters concerning Kim.
A source told HollywoodLife that Pete is seemingly unbothered about Kim’s decision to remove ‘West’ from her last name. Pete is someone who supports people who want to do what’s best for themselves. The source explained, “If [Kim] wants to do it, he is all for it. He is all about having people do things that people want to do for themselves. Whatever makes you happy is his mentality.” The insider also revealed that Pete is currently having his tattoos removed and would not want anyone to judge him for doing so. Therefore, he won’t judge anyone for doing something that makes them feel better, like a name change. The insider concluded, “[Kim’s name change] has no bearing on them or their relationship. He’s happy if she is happy. That is his standing on it all.”
Despite not publicly confirming their relationship, Kim and Pete do not appear to be hiding it either. They have been photographed holding hands and spending time together during multiple outings. Also, Pete celebrated his 28th birthday with Kim and her mother, Kris Jenner, in Palm Springs. Pete appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon alongside Miley Cyrus last week, and she happily took a jab at his budding romance with Kim. Miley hilariously referenced Pete’s dates with Kim while singing to him during their appearance. She joked that she should have been the one leaving the nice restaurant in a Lamborghini or watching a movie in Staten Island. Miley referred to Pete’s outing with Kim to Monica’s famed Giorgio Baldi and their outdoor rooftop dinner at State Island. Pete laughed and covered his face while Miley sang, backed up by The Roots band playing in the background.
Kim’s file for divorce from Kanye has yet to be finalized, but the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star continues to make moves to show she has moved on from her marriage to the rapper. However, Kanye doesn’t look like he is backing down on his attempts to win back Kim’s affection. Right now, his attempts appear to be futile at best as Kim seems hell-bent on moving on from him. The KKW Fragrances CEO wants nothing but her happiness, a feeling shared by Pete, who has shown he will support whatever moves she makes. Kim is very grateful for Kanye’s impact on her life during their relationship and has never failed to express it. However, she wants a new beginning and is focused on getting what she wants. No one is certain about how everything will play out in the end. But if one is to make a wild guess, it is likely they will bet on Kim’s wishes coming true.
