My Hero Academia’s Momo Yaoyorozu may have gotten into U.A. on recommendation, but that was with good reason. On top of being intelligent, her creation quirk is highly versatile and very useful for dealing with a wide variety of problems. With this power, Yaoyorozu can create the right tool for the right job.

Meanwhile, there are the many different and powerful creatures from the world of Pokémon. It’s true that Pokémon aren’t really known for fighting humans, and some have crazy strong abilities that almost make it seem like an unfair fight, but regardless, there’s a few out there that might just give Yaoyorozu a run for her money as well as ones that she’d probably stomp easily.

10 COULD DEFEAT: SHUCKLE

At first glance, Shuckle doesn’t look like much, but looks are deceiving. Shuckle has high defense stats and a few other tricks that make it a difficult opponent, one that even Yaoyorozu would have trouble with, at first anyway. While Yaoyorozu would have a hard time cracking through Shuckle’s defense, Shuckle doesn’t have a lot of offense either.

Shuckle’s best and only hope to land a decent enough hit on Yaoyorozu would be to use the move “Power Trick” which would switch it’s defense and attack stats, making it a lot stronger. Unfortunately, this would also be Shuckle’s downfall, since this turns Shuckle into a glass cannon, and makes it incredibly vulnerable to any attack Yaoyorozu has.

9 WOULD LOSE TO: STEELIX

Another Pokémon with incredibly high defense, Steelix’s body has been known to be stronger than any metal and is even tougher than diamonds. Unlike Shuckle, Steelix also has a lot of strength to back up its durability too. It has a wide moveset, having potential for not just steel, rock, and ground-type moves, but also fire, electric, and even dragon-type moves.

Steelix would be a difficult fight for Yaoyorozu no matter how you look at it. If its high durability wasn’t already intimidating enough, Steelix is also massive in size and Steelix is incredibly powerful, it’s jaws are strong enough to chew through stone like it was soft candy. Sadly Yaoyorozu just might not have anything up her sleeve that can damage Steelix’s tough body.

8 COULD DEFEAT: WEEZING

Weezing is the kind of Pokémon that sees one man’s trash as a free meal. It feasts off the gases produced by garbage and mixes them together till they become a poisonous smog that it can exhale. This would be Weezing’s main method of attack, and something Yaoyorozu could probably defend against.

Yaoyorozu has been known to be able to create gas masks, so knowing that, she would probably create one to defend against Weezing’s poison breath. Weezing would have other methods to attack, but unfortunately, Weezing is rather slow and not very agile. Because of this Weezing would likely be an easy target for Yaoyorozu to hit.

7 WOULD LOSE TO: SCEPTILE

Sceptile is one of the faster Pokémon out there, and no slouch when it comes to attacking power either. The leaves along its arms act like blades and have been known to be strong enough to cut down large trees. With both vicious speed and power, Sceptile might be a little more than Yaoyorozu can handle.

Taking speed and agility into account, Sceptile can attack incredibly fast and from multiple angles. Yaoyorozu could try to create something to defend herself while she thinks of a strategy, but if Sceptile keeps attacking, she could be overwhelmed like during her fight with Tokoyami during the Sports Festival. Even if Yaoyorozu went to attack, Sceptile would likely either be fast enough to dodge it or even use the move “Detect” to avoid her attacks altogether.

6 COULD DEFEAT: ZOROARK

Zoroark is a Pokémon known for its trickery. Using illusions, Zoroark can mislead its foes by appearing as a completely different Pokémon, or even a person. Its illusions aren’t just limited to itself either, it can actually mask the scenery around it too. It’s a powerful ability, but perhaps one that Yaoyorozu can see right through.

While Zoroark’s illusions can be convincing, they are not impossible to see through if one has a perceptive eye and Yaoyorozu is a sharp one, and might just be able to pick up on Zoroark’s tricks. If Zoroark tries to disguise itself as a person, maybe even someone she knows, Yaoyorozu might try to confirm if they are who they claim to be first. Zoroark may be a master of trickery, but might not be able to outwit Yaoyorozu.

5 WOULD LOSE TO: GARDEVIOR

Psychic-type Pokémon are known for being a powerful bunch in the Pokémon canon that make them fierce opponents, and one such example would be Gardevior. This humanoid Pokémon is known to be fiercely loyal to its trainer and will use everything in its power to protect them and that’s quite a bit, to say the least.

Gardevior can use its psychic abilities much like other psychic-types, it can also use them to see the future and create black holes. Since it’s impossible to escape the pull of a black hole, nothing Yaoyorozu can create could possibly defend her from it.

4 COULD DEFEAT: ALAKAZAM

Alakazam is another powerful psychic Pokémon that’s known for its high intelligence. It’s said to have perfect memory and is apparently smarter than a supercomputer. All this, along with its psychic powers, makes Alakazam a tough opponent, but not one without weaknesses that Yaoyorozu can exploit.

While Alakazam’s mind is its greatest strength, its body is incredibly weak. Because of this, Alakazam actually has to use its psychic powers to move its body and even lift its head, which grows even more over time. With that in mind, striking at the body would mean victory for Yaoyorozu. Even as smart as Alakazam is, Yaoyorozu has beat opponents with genius intellect, such as Saiko during the Provisional License Exam, so Alakazam would be no different.

3 WOULD LOSE TO: MACHAMP

Most Pokémon are in some way born fighters, but the muscular Machamp takes that to a whole new level. Machamp is a master of combat, with its four incredibly powerful arms it can throw hundreds of punches in just seconds. Its strength level is so insane, that with just one arm, it can actually move an entire mountain.

With that level of raw power, Machamp has feats that could possibly rival All Might’s, a hero that Yaoyorozu wouldn’t have been able to defeat herself, and as such wouldn’t have much she could create that could hurt Machamp or defend herself without it breaking through. They don’t call Machamp the “Superpower Pokémon” for nothing.

2 COULD DEFEAT: PIKACHU

Everybody knows the adorable and electrically charged mascot of the Pokémon franchise, Pikachu. This little mouse Pokémon is incredibly fast and has a variety of electrifying attacks that can shock its enemies into submission. Sadly though, even cute little Pikachu has its weaknesses, some that Yaoyorozu can easily take advantage of too.

Many times in the anime, it’s shown Pikachu’s electric attacks are ineffective against rubber (since rubber doesn’t conduct electricity), so it’s completely possible that Yaoyorozu could create something made of rubber to protect herself from Pikachu’s strongest attacks. That doesn’t leave too many options for Pikachu to fight her with, while Yaoyorozu would still be able to use her quirk to subdue the little electric mouse.

1 WOULD LOSE TO: ARCEUS

While many Pokémon have seemingly impossible feats of power, none are like anything on the level that Arceus is capable of. Most who try to fight Arceus, usually don’t stand much of a chance.

Arceus is pretty much the god of the Pokémon universe, creating both it and every Pokémon that exists, even the powerful Legendary Pokémon and as such would definitely take the win in a fight with Yaoyorozu. While the two share a knack for create, unsurprisingly, Yaoyorozu’s creation quirk is on a much smaller scale and has its limits, but Arceus seemingly doesn’t. Against a Pokémon that can destroy meteors, a battle between Yaoyorozu and Arceus would be nothing other than one-sided.
