Mobile puzzle game Pokémon Café Mix has been a big success as it has reached over 5 million downloads worldwide. It hit this milestone in less than 2 months since it launched on June 23

To help celebrate the occasion, budding baristas who play the game will be getting 5,000 golden acorns and three of the Whistle ↔ and Whistle ↕ puzzle powers. To get these rewards, you’ll have to log in from now until August 30, 2020 at 6:59 AM PST. After that, you’re out of luck. To incentivize that login, Sword & Shield starter Pokémon Grookey will be a customer of your cafe from now until August 26. Will this monkey Pokémon order a banana-flavored frappe?

The official website also tells its players to look out for Pokémon like Wobbuffet, Buizel, and Audino. The mythical Pokemon Celebi may also pop in for a visit.

A recent update has been added for keen Café Mix players with the addition of orders 251 to 300. This includes new dishes like Bouncy Brionne Soda and Pikachu Fruit Flan. Sounds delicious! Wobbuffet is also hirable if you impress it enough!

The game has you run a cafe for these pocket monsters as a part of their daily routine, but instead of making coffees or cooking, it has the all too familiar matching game mechanic we’ve seen in a lot of other mobile titles. It feels very similar to Disney’s Tsum Tsum mobile game if you have played that. What Pokémon Café Mix does have going for it is a wonderful art style and the ever adorable brand that’s a household name worldwide.

In addition to mobile platforms (iOS and Android), the game is available on the Nintendo Switch as a free-to-start game. The Pokemon Company will be continuing this trend of supporting both mobile and the Switch with an upcoming MOBA called Pokémon Unite, which is inspired by League of Legends. All three platforms will feature cross-play with 5v5 battles that will have your Pokémon evolve as they level up. Staying true to the Pokemon series, you can also catch Pokémon. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. There is currently no release date set for this title.
