Pokemon GO Lotad Day Field Research Tasks Revealed

Another event for Pokemon GO is right around the corner, with the weather-based Lotad Research Day set to run from 11 AM to 8 PM local time on March 30. During this event, players will hopefully be able to find shiny Lotad and Castform, but it is unknown if shiny spawn rates have been buffed for this event. Many are likely happy to know that shinies have been confirmed this time around, as previous Limited-Time Research events have fallen short of the community standard.

It’s worth mentioning that this event stands out among other Pokemon GO Limited-Time Research events, as it is set to run practically all day compared to the three-hour window of prior events. This will likely go a long way to help players participate and enjoy this event, but this is not the only upgrade this event is receiving over its predecessors. According to renown leaker Chrales, Pokemon GO players will be receiving 13 Field Research Tasks tied to this event, as opposed to the handful received previously.

Exact numbers and rewards haven’t been revealed, but given the time frame, the numbers won’t be as difficult to hit as prior events. The Field Encounter rewards will mostly be Lotad, if not every encounter reward in its entirety, giving players a chance to get Ludicolo (and perhaps a shiny variant as well). It’s also worth mentioning that the general Pokemon GO March Field Research Tasks may still be active during this event, though they are likely to be overshadowed by these tasks. Here are all the Lotad Research Day Field Research tasks:

Hopefully, this Pokemon GO event will go over well with Niantic and the community, as it is the slight changes and the unique events that keep Pokemon GO moving ever forward.

In fact, after this event, Pokemon GO players will have the Bug Out Event to take part in, which shifts the focus from weather-based Pokemon to Bug-typed Pokemon. Shortly after that, players will have the Bagon Community Day event to participate in. Nothing is currently planned (well, announced) for after April 13, but it seems safe to say that more events will take place then too.

Pokemon GO is out now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
