Pokemon Nintendo Switch Titles Revealed

[Update: These trademarks and logos have been faked as part of an Internet hoax. Original story follows.]

Rumors have been swirling these past few days that Nintendo is set to host a Nintendo Direct on January 11, where it is expected to show off a number of Nintendo Switch games. Among the titles rumored to be a part of the Nintendo Direct’s lineup are the main series Pokemon games from Game Freak, which may have had their titles leaked ahead of time.

It appears as though Nintendo has filed trademarks for Pokemon 1 and 0. These trademarks come complete with logo art that seems in line with previous games in the series. Unless these trademarks are fake somehow, it seems like a safe bet that the Pokemon games on Nintendo Switch will in fact be named Pokemon 1 and 0.

Of course, that’s just speculation at this time. Before fans commit to the idea that the next Pokemon games will be called 1 and 0, they should wait for an official announcement from Nintendo. Which, if the latest rumors are to be believed, could come as early as next Thursday, January 11.

Some fans may find it hard to believe that Nintendo is already trademarking the names of the next Pokemon games, as many have assumed that the Switch Pokemon titles aren’t due for release until much later. However, recent rumors suggest that Nintendo is hoping to launch the Switch Pokemon games by the end of 2018.

It makes sense that Nintendo wants such a big release on the Switch as soon as possible. Pokemon games remain some of the top-selling games in the industry, and they are proven system sellers. If Nintendo manages to release the new Pokemon games on the Switch by the time 2018 is out, then it’s easy to see how the Big N can reach its goal of selling 20 million units in 2018.

Luckily, fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to learn if Pokemon 1 and 0 are truly the names of the Nintendo Switch Pokemon games. There’s a lot of evidence that suggests Nintendo will be hosting a Nintendo Direct next week, and fans will likely learn then whether or not these latest trademarks mean anything.

Pokemon 1 and 0 are rumored to be in development for the Nintendo Switch.
