Fans of The Sims 4 have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of a brand new game pack for a while. Thanks to the six-month roadmap laid out back in April and due to the release of the Eco Lifestyle Expansion and the Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack since then, we knew it was just a matter of time before the final announcement came. Now, thanks to the Gamescom announcement we finally know that the pack is called Journey To Batuu and is a crossover between The Sims 4 and Star Wars.
This pack announcement has been a little unusual. Described back in April by SimGuruDuke as “a major first,” speculation about the theme began when a game pack icon was leaked on EA’s very own website. While many guesses were thrown around, the one which was most prevalent was a Star Wars theme. The distinctly Tattooine looking icon is the main reason. However, the likelihood of an EA-owned full franchise crossover was backed up by the fact that Nifty Knitting included a figure of Yarny from Unravelled – plus, we’ve also had Star Wars-themed outfits in The Sims 4 for a long while, giving this theory some credibility. Now we know for sure that Star Wars is coming to The Sims 4.

The trailer features the Millenium Falcon, iconic Star Wars characters, and lightsabers. Our sim is seen exploring the sights of the cantina before we see some action-packed Star Wars-Sims clips.
A house being converted into a distinctly Tatooine looking abode gives a glimpse of some of the likely items available in the upcoming pack, which will be released on September 8, 2020.
Opinions in the community about the possibility of a Star Wars pack where incredibly split with many loving the idea while others were dead set against it. Those in the negative camp may change their minds as more information about the pack’s features and focus are likely made available in the next few days.
