What is Lord Of The Rings star Billy Boyd’s net worth? Glasgow-born actor Billy Boyd is best known for playing Peregrin “Pippin” Took – the hobbit who joined Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee and Merry Brandybuck on their quest to destroy the One Ring in Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Alongside appearing in all three films, Boyd also provided the voice of Pippin in EA’s Lord Of The Rings game series.

Billy Boyd’s role as Pippin may be his most high-profile, but the Lord Of The Rings trilogy is by no means the only string on his bow. Between The Two Towers and The Return Of The King, Boyd starred in 2003 naval drama Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World alongside Russell Crowe. The following year, he was the voice behind Glen and his evil twin Glenda – the offspring of evil doll Chucky and his bride Tiffany – in comedy-horror Seed Of Chucky.

Boyd has had a steady stream of film work since, mostly in small British movies. He starred opposite Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary) in the 2006 biographical drama The Flying Scotsman and alongside Charlie Cox and Robert Carlyle in the 2008 historical comedy Stone Of Destiny. He was also in Ecstasy, a film adapted from a short story in Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh’s book of the same name, and more recently narrated the Anna Paquin-fronted drama Tell It To The Bees. All that hard work has set him up well, because according to Celebrity Net Worth Billy Boyd is worth approximately $6 million.

No doubt Boyd’s TV work keeps that net worth topped up nicely too. He starred in the short-lived BBC sitcom Empty alongside Scottish comedy icon Gregor Fisher and played Elijah in a miniseries adaptation of Moby Dick that aired on Starz Encore in 2011. Boyd also played the love interest of Dorothy Gale in miniseries The Witches Of Oz – an updated retelling of L. Frank Baum’s Oz book series – and has been in episodes of shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Outlander.

Acting isn’t Billy Boyd’s only stream of income. He sings and plays guitar in alternative indie band Beecake which has released three studio albums since forming in 2006 and played bass and drums on a couple of tracks for his Rings co-star Viggo Mortensen’s 2003 experimental album Pandemonium From America. His musical talents have crossed over into his film and TV work also. In 2014, Boyd reunited with Peter Jackson when he co-wrote and sang the song “The Last Goodbye” which played over the closing credits of The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies. More recently, he performed “The Perfect Tale” – a song parodying his Hobbit ditty – in a 2017 episode of The Simpsons titled “The Serfsons”.
