Fortnite will celebrate its third birthday this year. Considering the global phenomenon the game has become, it’s crazy to think it has been in our lives for less than three years at this point. A lot has happened in Fortnite during that time. The game now has 350 million players, massive franchises such as Marvel and Star Wars have finagled a piece of the Fortnite pie, and its live concerts have been watched by millions.

There have also been some pretty impressive world records set down on the island. Records that remind us even if we were able to play Fortnite 24 hours a day, seven days a week, there would still be so many people who are better at it than us. Here are a few of the records 99.99% of Fortnite’s player base has no hope of ever breaking.

34 Eliminations In Solos

This first record is a long-standing one that was set back in November of 2018 by Rizart. 34 eliminations in one round of Solos. That’s right, this player took out more than a third of the rest of the field all by himself. Pretty incredible. This was back when a large chunk of players would land at Tilted Towers, which is where Rizart’s impressive haul begins. Unless Tilted Towers returns, this record may never be broken.

A 491m Sniper Shot

This record has been around even longer than Rizart’s Solo effort. A sniper shot that connects and eventually eliminates a player from 491m away. That’s almost half a kilometer — or a little less than a third of a mile for those who prefer imperial measurements. Gato Velandia took the amazing shot and we await someone who can round that record up to an even 500m.

55 Eliminations In Duos

This record might well be the most impressive one in existence today for a number of reasons. During the summer of 2019, the team of Slastt and Spook racked up 55 eliminations in one round of Duos. What makes this record even better than most is the pair split the eliminations as evenly as they could (28 to Slastt, 27 for Spook), it happened in Arena mode which tends to include a better standard of player, and Spook was just 13 years old at the time.

180m Clinger Kill

This is the only record to make this list that should fill any and all Fortnite players that they might one day hold an in-game world record. Fortnite’s clingers are grenades with what are effectively plunger heads stuck to them. After landing, OMGitsHassnain blindly threw the three clingers they picked up from a high point just to get rid of them. Just so happens a player below got one stuck to them and hey presto! A world record was set.

61 Eliminations In Squads

Last but most certainly not least, the most eliminations by a squad of four players during one round of Fortnite. What makes this record impressive, aside from four players taking out well over half of their competition, is that only two team members made it all the way to the end. However, all four contributed to breaking the record. Fqrbes led the way with 25 eliminations, Nexjs got 18, Tactjc got 10, and NadeXC was responsible for the remaining eight.
