Goku, the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball franchise, is one of the most powerful warriors in anime. Goku’s unique blend of skilled fighting techniques, backed by his arbitrary transformations put him in a class of his own. In fact, one may consider Goku to be overpowered in regards that he can simply destroy planets at his own whim.
While Goku does have flaws of his own, such as his regular idiocy and his total disregard to anything but his training, there are few characters that can fight Goku in a fair match, and there are even fewer that can actually defeat him. All it takes is a Super Saiyan God transformation and your favorite character can be wiped out in a flash. Still, this isn’t all of the story.
Every character has a weakness, especially when certain stipulations are set in place. A character as strong as Goku could defeat Superman in a flash, yet lose to Jigglypuff on the former’s own terms. Every fight is different and you will see that for yourself today. Even though the actual thought of defeating Goku is absurd, there are a few characters that can pull off the feat.
This list will explore a set of characters who can go toe to toe with the legendary Saiyan, and defeat him in a final result. How do you ask can these two old heroes ever hope to defeat Goku? Well, the answer is pretty simple. Goku can easily wipe the floor with these two geezers, right? Wrong! Goku won’t win a fight between these two. If Goku traveled to Bikini Bottom, he would be at a major disadvantage. That would be a lack of oxygen for the Saiyan to actually put up a fight.
In DBZ, Frieza pointed out that Goku couldn’t survive in Space because of the lack of oxygen. It would stand to reason that Goku wouldn’t survive long underwater, especially long enough to fight Bikini Bottom’s greatest heroes.

Angry Chicken used to be Peter Griffin’s arch rival before the creators started to fade him away. Angry Chicken has amazing fighting and is crafty enough to make anything seem like a weapon. He was fought evenly with Peter Griffin, whom is a skilled fighter on most occasions himself. However, in a battle against Goku, things may not go so well. To start, Goku is a master of martial arts. He lives and breathes fighting. He is a master fighter and trainer and could probably defeat any ordinary human being with a chop.
So, what does that mean for a chicken? Well, it really isn’t any difference. Angry Chicken will get clobbered with only three punches. Actually, when Goku tested his punching power in a tournament in the Buu saga, it was considerably over human comprehension. The sad part was that Goku just touched the machine with his fist. Now, three punches may sound like an amazing understatement.

Look out, Goku! This could be dangerous for you. Timmy Turner’s imagination has yet to be matched by any cartoon, so you could argue that he could come up with 1,000,000,000 or so wishes that could easily disarm and defeat Goku at the drop of a hat. It’s just not fair when you have fairies.

For those that watched TV in the early 90s, Captain Planet and the Planeteers was one of those Saturday cartoons that aimed to educate kids about the importance of keeping the Earth clean and healthy. When the five rings of Gaia aligned, he could be summoned to deal with any bad guy who caused the Earth any harm. But remember, Goku is the protector of Earth, not this washed up hero. Captain Planet could actually be harmed if Earth got polluted too much. So, in theory, a blast towards Earth’s atmosphere would be fatal to Captain Planet. Goku wouldn’t even have to touch him.

Ben Tennyson, the main character from the popular cartoon series Ben 10, was a very unique character. As a child, Ben was unstable, unintelligent, and impulsive to be a great hero by any means. However, as he became an adult, he developed so much aliens that even he lost count. Similar to Goku, Ben is technically an alien when he uses his watch.
This puts them both on the same level, and here’s why. Goku may have the abilities to turn into a Super Saiyan and beyond, but Ben has multiple transformations he can use to either tire Goku out or outsmart him. Adult Ben isn’t someone to mess with. If he and Goku fought, Goku would have to learn the hard way.

Otherwise, Shredder has incredible fighting prowess, intellectual skills, and a thirst of blood that rivals no other. It’s truly no wonder why he’s such an amazing character.
Still, we’re talking about Goku here. Shredder’s world is very similar to Goku’s, so Shredder really won’t have any advantage of stipulation. Shredder also knows only martial arts, which is pretty much Goku’s bread and butter. The only thing left is Shredder outsmarting Goku, and that won’t happen because Goku would knock him out easily. This match won’t last very long.

No, we’re not talking about the bald King Neptune. This is the real King Neptune, mainly since has has had more appearances than the former. King Neptune is an entirety. He is particularly a Roman god and the ruler of the sea. Nothing that lives in the sea stands a chance against Neptune in any way. He’s simply too powerful.
Goku, on the other hand, may be a worthy foe, but can he really defeat Neptune in his own domain? No, he can’t. Neptune has demonstrated his magical abilities time and time again, and Goku won’t be able to last in an all-out battle under the sea.

Squidward is the most misunderstood character on SpongeBob. It is without a doubt that he is harassed by his obsessed neighbors, disrespected by his friends and his boss, and he is undervalued as a musician and artist. Maybe things could change for Squidward if he could change his snobbish attitude.
He simply believes that he’s better than everyone else. Though the fact remains that Squidward has almost no talent. He’s scrawny and weak, while being nothing of a fighter. Even with Goku’s limited oxygen under the sea, he could wipe Squidward out in one blow.

Who can forget the iconic villain from the TV animated series, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Professor Calamitous. This wacky scientist wrecked havoc whenever he wanted and was a major thorn in the side of Jimmy Neutron, mainly because he was probably just as smart as he was. That’s actually dangerous, by the way. Jimmy Neutron is simply one of the most intelligent and innovative cartoon characters of this era, and it’s not even close.
Goku tends to struggle against enemies that can actually use their brain. Take Frost for example. Even though Goku was stronger, Frost cleverly had a trick up his sleeve to cheat and win the tournament match. In terms of unfairness and underhanded schemes, Professor Calamitous is ten times better than Frost. The match won’t be close.

Bender is most recognized as the comic relief in the popular television series, Futurama. It has already been determined that Bender is not much of a fighter. In fact, he’s totally useless in that regard. Even in the future where technology and robots are superior to all lifeforms, Goku would wipe Bender out.
In fact, he would probably disintegrate Bender after he figures out that there is no reason to prolong the battle, as he usually does. Bender has no fighting qualities whatsoever, making this a very one-sided affair.

But, will it be enough to defeat Goku.
It will, actually. Again, Goku would have to go underwater to defeat Man Ray, and the task won’t be easy. Man Ray has demonstrated exceptional strength time and time again, and when oxygen starts to get depleted from Goku’s body, he won’t keep up. Call it whatever you want, but Goku is clearly outmatched here.

Boy, oh boy! The old, generic cartoons of the 80s were truly something to watch back then. As such, He-Man was a common staple of young American boys from that era, especially on Saturday mornings. There was nothing quite like He-Man. He was a warrior to the bone. He simply was a manly man with no equal. As a matter of fact, he is sort of built just like Goku.
However, don’t bet anything that He-Man could actually last in a fight with the strongest Saiyan in the universe. It simply won’t happen. While He-Man is in enough shape to take simple blows from Goku, the real test will come when Goku gets serious and wipes him out with a Kai blast. Yes, the Super Saiyan would probably rip the hero to shreds.

Rick Sanchez has totally defied all of normalcy of the common world by brainstorming new scientific theories and introducing Morty to a variety of universes that border the outskirts of unreality. Simply put, Rick is unstoppable. His mind is too advanced to be defeated, and it can be properly assumed that he would laugh at Goku just like he does Morty.

The White Ranger is the strongest hero in the Power Rangers series. He has the leadership abilities, fighting power, and bravery to make a fight with Goku at least entertaining. In fact, Goku would probably go the distance with the White Ranger. After all, Goku loves strong and worthy opponents. The White Ranger’s final attack probably might hurt Goku… in theory, that is.
Still, Goku could defeat the White Ranger while not even taking an ounce of damage. The White Ranger’s durability against Goku’s attacks won’t be high, and he isn’t fast enough to dodge the Saiyan forever. Chalk up an easy victory for Son Goku.

At last we meet the final entry of the characters that can defeat Goku. Naturally, this one happens to be the strongest. Although Aang is a great Avatar and has defeated Ozai better than Roku ever could, Roku still edges Aang in power. In plain terms, Roku is one of the strongest Avatars to ever existed. He literally mastered every element to efficiency on the same par as his natural element, which was fire.
Not only that, but Avatar Roku could enter Avatar State, making him unstoppable. Goku could turn Super Saiyan God, and it would be a nasty battle. Still, Avatar Roku has unlimited power in Avatar State. Goku will eventually tire out and lose. It’s already decided.
