In what may prove to be the “most dramatic” awards show yet, The Bachelor franchise received seven 2021 People’s Choice Awards nominations. The awards include all aspects of entertainment, including 40 categories in movies, television, music, sports and pop culture. In the only awards show in which the winners are completely determined by the public’s vote, stars of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise have a great chance at taking home a trophy.

The People’s Choice Awards have been held since 1975, with online voting beginning in 2005. In the past, the Bachelor franchise has had some nominees and winners. In 2019, Hannah Brown took home the award for “The Competition Contestant of 2019,” winning against her exes Tyler Cameron and Colton Underwood. In 2020, Madison Prewett and Hannah Ann Sluss were nominated in the same category but lost to Gigi Goode from RuPaul’s Drag Race. In a sea of hundreds of reality television show contestants, being singled out for a nomination or win at this awards show is a great honor, especially since it is voted by the fans.

According to the People’s Choice Awards website, this year The Bachelor is nominated in the category of “The Show of 2021,” versus Cobra Kai, Grey’s Anatomy, Law & Order: SVU, Loki, Saturday Night Live, This Is Us and WandaVision. This category includes some of the most critically acclaimed shows on television. In addition to this, Bachelor In Paradise is one of eight nominees in “The Reality Show of 2021” category, which also includes 90 Day Fiancé, Below Deck, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In “The Competition Show of 2021” category, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will compete head-to-head, along with America’s Got Talent, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Masked Singer, and The Voice. With the amount of talent in these categories, the Bachelor shows face some stiff competition.

Individual stars of the shows are nominated as well. In “The Competition Contestant of 2021” category, exes Matt James and Katie Thurston will compete against each other, alongside Cody Rigsby and JoJo Siwa (Dancing With The Stars), Gottmik and Symone (RuPaul’s Drag Race), and JoJo and Wiz Khalifa (The Masked Singer). For his stint on Bachelor In Paradise, Joe Amabile is nominated in “The Reality Star of 2021” category alongside Erica Mena (Love & Hip Hop Atlanta), Kandi Burruss (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi (Jersey Shore: Family Vacation), Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian (Keeping Up With The Kardashians), and Lisa Rinna (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). Joe is one of the most loved contestants in Bachelor history, so he has a good chance of winning.

Fans of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise can vote for their favorites to win a People’s Choice Award this year. Matt, Katie and Joe have been some of the most talked-about and beloved contestants in the history of the show. With the support of Bachelor Nation, perhaps the shows can bring home a few more trophies. The People’s Choice Awards airs Tuesday, December 7 at 9pm on E! and NBC.
