Kazuya, the latest fighter to join Super Smash Bros.Ultimate, has only been part of the roster since last Tuesday. This however hasn’t stopped the Tekken star from making his mark, as Smash players both casual and pro are struggling to take him down, even when he’s a CPU.

To test the waters with this new fighter, a computer-controlled Kazuya (admittedly on the hardest difficulty, level 9) was entered into a local Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament. As players are still learning how to take on this fighting game legend, the Kazuya bot dominated in matches. The sheer power on display is truly something to behold, and it’s clear players have their work cut out for them as they try and counter this new character.

The Falco player who got beat by the computer owned up to it on r/smashbros, but no one was judging. The user that shared the clip from the tournament even said that, in an off-camera match, one contestant lost the entire set 2-0 to Kazuya, getting eliminated from the competition. All in all, no one’s having a good time against Kazuya right now, and as many pointed out, even big-time pros are losing matches to him.

One such Smash legend is WaDi, who is considered one of the best active players. WaDi also shared a video on his YouTube channel where he took on the Tekken star – and the difficulty is no joke. In a nail-bitingly close set, WaDi lost 3-2 to the level 9 Kazuya. While these were just practice games to get used to the new fighter, WaDi is clearly shocked by just how tough a level 9 Kazuya can be.

No matter where you look in the Smash community, no one can get over just how powerful Kazuya is. Smash Bros. Twitter is full of clips of Kazuya CPUs pulling off combos seemingly impossible to get out of. It’s going to take a lot of practice for players to best this level 9 bot – seemingly more so than any other new fighter that’s come before

Kazuya is the fifth character released as part of Fighter Pass Vol. 2. 2021 will see the release of at least one more fighter as part of this DLC pack.
