Some eagle-eyed mobile gamers in China and Brazil found a pre-registration page for a mobile port of League of Legends, in advance of an official announcement for the widely speculated mobile port of Riot Games’ groundbreaking MOBA. The pre-registration page was quickly taken down, however some have speculated that the port’s official announcement will be made during the League of Legends 10th anniversary event, with anniversary announcements of some sort beginning today, October 15th, at 6:00PM PST.

While its legitimacy was never truly verified, gameplay of League of Legends on a mobile device had already leaked earlier this year, which all-but-confirmed that the port would be a reality, especially due to the footage including mobile-specific features, rather than just being the version of the game we already know played on a phone screen.

The pre-registration date listed for the mobile version of the game is October 16th, which coincides with the anniversary event in Chinese time zones, though as of yet no one knows exactly what will be announced during the event. It seems safe to say, however, that there’s a high possibility mobile LoL will be among those announcements.

Furthermore, esports journalist and frequent leaker Slasher has reported that Riot is set to announce both an original, digital card game called Legends of Runeterra, alongside a League of Legends anime. Slasher’s leaks are correct far more often than not, so it’s very likely we already know the majority of, if not all of the contents of Riot’s upcoming event.

Daniel Ahmad, who widely shared the screenshots of the mobile League screenshots, has also reported that the gameplay for the mobile port will be the same as its PC counterpart, more-or-less confirming the veracity of the leaked footage, which merely had its controls optimized for mobile. As for whether or not there will be crossplay between PC players and mobile players, Ahmad and the rest of those with knowledge about the port remain unsure. All of this speculation will be confirmed (or denied, but let’s be real) during Riot’s event broadcast, which will be streamed on the official Riot Games Twitch channel.
