Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem may have just come out last week, but it’s already got some pretty impressive mods.

Wolcen is off to a bit of a rough start. The game has just a 61% user review score on Steam, with most users reporting poor PC optimization, overloaded servers, and some game-breaking bugs. Despite this, the game is immensely popular. SteamCharts already reports concurrent player counts of over 120,000, making Wolcen the most popular new ARPG to hit Steam since Path of Exile.

The game itself is pretty much as you’d expect from the ARPG hack-and-slash genre, with a few notable twists. First, there are no classes, and characters progress their skills wherever they want. Second, weapons all have unique stances and combos, which makes using an ax feel way different than using a sword. And third, you can shapeshift into a Celestial Incarnation temporarily to boost your damage and unleash your ultimate attack.

Which is all well and good, but some players demand even more from their ARPG. For them, there are mods, and Wolcen doesn’t disappoint on that front.

Despite being out for just a week, Wolcen has a healthy selection of mods over on NexusMods. Since Wolcen has an offline mode, you can download these mods to change the game just the way you want it.

For example, there’s a mod that greatly enhances the drop rate of pretty much everything. Yes, the Many Uniques mod is much the same as any other mod that dials the drop rate up to 11, but it’s still fun to open a chest and watch a dozen Uniques tumble out. Plus it can be helpful for the player to discover just exactly what Uniques are out there.

Don’t like the look of your character? Then download the Enhanced Character Options mod from user AlanaSP. This mod improves the character creation screen with new hairstyles, eye options, skin options, hair colors, and an enhanced UI.

Or if you really want to break the game, try the Dual Wield Two-Handed Weapons mod. With this mod you can wield a greatsword in one hand and a pike in the other. Or you can wield a bow and a sword, or a bow and a pistol, or you can just wield two bows. How does that even make sense? No idea. I guess you pull the string with your teeth or something.

There are way more than just these three mods, so head on over to NexusMods and kick your Wolcen game up a notch.
