Why Samsung Is Charging $2,500 For This Monitor
Believe it or not, there is a reason why Samsung’s asking so much for the Odyssey Neo G9. It’s a 49-inch curved monitor with a Mini LED screen, resulting in extremely rich colors and deep blacks. It’s the same screen technology used on the latest 12.9-inch iPad Pro, except it’s extended across a 49-inch canvas. The G9 also touts a 5120 x 1440 resolution, a peak brightness rating of 2,000 nits, and a 240Hz refresh rate. Other specs include HDR, support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone jack, and two full-size USB 3.0 ports.
There’s no doubt that $2,500 is a lot of money to spend on a monitor, but for the person that wants the best gaming experience possible, that’s exactly what the Odyssey Neo G9 will deliver.
