One of the sweetest relationships on Schitt’s Creek was between Ted and Alexis. Unlike Alexis’ description of her previous relationships, she and Ted took their time and got to know each other as friends before giving their romance a second chance.

As fans watched Alexis transform into a caring and mature person, they also watched Ted and Alexis alter their relationship into one of value. They both supported each other’s careers, spoke their truths, and became genuine people in each other’s company. And while their romance didn’t have the same happy ending as David and Patrick, their ending was still content because it was done with love and respect

6 Season 1 – The First Relationship

The first time Alexis meets Ted is in ‘Wine and Roses’. Ted approached her at Cafe Tropical and admitted that the town had never seen someone as beautiful as Alexis. Alexis is immediately attracted to Ted but it’s hard to know if it’s because he’s good-looking or if it’s because she knows he’s a doctor. Nevertheless, they begin to date. By the season 1 finale, Ted loved Alexis enough to propose but with her potentially leaving Schitt’s Creek, she turned him down. Things got trickier when the deal to sell the town fell through and Alexis and the Roses had to stay in Schitt’s Creek.

5 Season 2 – Breakups And Coworkers

At the start of season 2, Alexis was confused if she was engaged to Ted or not because she told him she would only marry him if she was staying in Schitt’s Creek. And now that she was, she felt trapped (especially after kissing Mutt).

Alexis eventually ended things with Ted and went after Mutt, but she couldn’t quit Ted completely. The two kept bumping into each other around town and focused on being friends. By the end of season 2, Alexis began working at Ted’s clinic, and the two got to know each other on a deeper level.

4 Season 3 – Great Friends

By season 3, Alexis and Ted were friendlier than ever and really found their footing. The romantic tension was gone and they genuinely enjoyed each other’s company as co-workers and friends. Alexis was doing better at the clinic, so Ted suggested she take some college courses at the local community college to really excel at her job. The only problem was, Alexis didn’t have her high school degree. Instead of judging Alexis, Ted encouraged her to go back to school and to achieve it for herself. Without Ted’s encouragement, it’s unclear if Alexis would have gone back to high school. When she graduated from her exams, Ted showed up to her graduation—as a friend—to show support. It was around this time that Alexis realized her feelings were shifting for Ted.

3 Season 4 – Getting Back Together

With Alexis’ college career beginning, she quit the clinic and helped Ted find a replacement. After interviewing potential workers, both Ted and Alexis silently realized they were going to miss each other. All hope for a relationship blew up, however, when Alexis found out that Ted had a girlfriend. This only made her want Ted more, but she supported his relationship.

In ‘The Rollout’, Alexis was planning a Singles Week event and followed her own advice by telling Ted how she felt. She told him she loved him and would support him regardless of his response. In the following episode, Ted showed up to Singles Week and declared his mutual love for Alexis. He broke up with Heather and threw himself into a relationship (for the second time) with Alexis.

2 Season 5 – Going Long Distance

Ted and Alexis proved how strong they were physically and emotionally in ‘The Crowening’ during a ropes course. Instead of keeping her eyes on other guys (like the old Alexis), Alexis was dedicated to Ted and her future career. But by ‘The Roast’, Alexis found out that Ted was accepted into a prestigious program on the Galapagos Islands. It became clear that Ted was choosing Alexis over this monumental career moment, and she couldn’t accept that. Instead of keeping Ted in Schitt’s Creek for her own comfort, she chose differently. The two decided to embark on a long-distance relationship before Alexis left Schitt’s Creek and moved there with him.

1 Season 6 – A Mutual End

Throughout season 6, the couple struggled with their long-distance relationship, which came with more downs than ups. Due to both of their careers thriving, they found it hard to communicate and FaceTime as much as they’d like. Alexis considered pausing her career to be with Ted but Ted doesn’t want her to do that. After a sweet surprise appearance by Ted, the two had a romantic date where they both admitted their relationship wasn’t working. They amicably broke up but had the highest respect for each other and the roads they were on. As sweet as it would be for these two to end up together, it was a transformative step for Alexis to focus on her job rather than a boyfriend.
