The Next D&D Rulebook Is Tashas Cauldron Of Everything

The next Dungeons & Dragons rulebook is coming this November, as Wizards of the Coast has announced that Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything will be bringing several new additions to the game, including classes, sidekicks, and a reworking of the race rules. Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything is a follow up to Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, which was released in 2017.

The Tasha in the title will be familiar to Dungeons & Dragons players, as she is named in the Tasha’s hideous laughter spell, which can incapacitate foes by forcing them to fall over laughing, making it one of the strongest low-level spells in D&D. Tasha was a pseudonym used by the mage Iggwilv, who resides in Oerth from the Greyhawk setting. She was the adopted daughter of the witch Baba Yaga and sired the demigod Iuz, with the lore suggesting that she later became a goddess herself. Tasha will make comments throughout Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything on the material present in the book.

Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything will feature new rules and additions that players and dungeon masters alike can use in their Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. These include the lineage and origin rules, which will allow players to customize the racial modifiers of a character outside of the options presented in the Player’s Handbook. The book will include new subclasses, new features for existing classes (including the artificer), new spells (some of which bear Tasha’s name, including Tasha’s caustic brew and Tasha’s otherworldly guides), new magic items (including the Demonomicon of Iggwilv), rules for magic tattoos, and rules for magical spellcasting focuses.

What Else Tasha’s Cauldron Of Everything Contains

For dungeon masters, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything will contain puzzles that can be used in D&D adventures, which were designed specifically to be slotted into any campaign. There will be a chapter dedicated to group patrons, where the party can have a character who provides them with missions. There will be rules in place to let players & dungeon masters create sidekicks, who are basic characters that can be used to fill roles when a group is low on players. There will be a section dedicated to magical environments that can be used as locations for adventures.

The current edition of Dungeons & Dragons has seen a slower release of new titles, but the quality of their content is of a much higher grade than the older versions of the game. The fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons has slowly been expanding over the past six years, but Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything might offer some of the biggest additions to the game since it was first launched.
