While Twentieth Century Studios (formerly known as 20th Century Fox) has released a lot of well-received animations over its history including Isle of Dogs, How To Train Your Dragon 2, and Ice Age, not every one is a winner. Because we already looked at the studio’s best animated films, we thought it was time to instead focus on the worst movies to be released under the Twentieth Century label. To do this, we’ll be turning to the scores on IMDb.

The popular movie and TV show website has assigned every Twentieth Century film a star rating, based on the votes of registered users on a scale of 1 to 10. These scores are what we’ll be using to stack up the studio’s worst.

With the logistics out of the way, it’s time to head to the theater and throw toss some popcorn at the big screen; Here are the lowest-rated theatrically released animated Twentieth Century films, according to IMDb.

10 The Happy Cricket And The Giant Bugs (6.0)

Though this Brazilian computer-animated fantasy was nominated for Best Movie at the 2009 Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, general moviegoers weren’t as kind to it.

The film tells of a cricket and a rap group who are forced to fight the schemes of a villain who wants to illegally distribute their music.

The Happy Cricket and the Giant Bugs failed to stand out to viewers, who found that its overall quality failed to rise up to the level of other films released at the same time.

9 Asterix Conquers America (5.9)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

This 1994 French-German animation has Julius Ceasar cutting off the magic super-human strength potions from the Gaulus village after learning of their victory. However, putting an end to this only ignites a new series of problems.

Many viewers felt that all the things that made the original source material interesting had been replaced by a cheap attempt. In the end, Asterix Conquers America failed to stand out as a memorable adaption.

8 Ice Age: Collision Course (5.7)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

Unfortunately, the Ice Age series watched the originality and humor of the first installment slowly melt away with the release of each subsequent sequel. By the time the fifth movie came around, there wasn’t much worth talking about.

2016’s Collision Course saw Manny the mammoth becoming concerned after his daughter Peaches reveals she is engaged. While Manny tries to think of a way to stop the ceremony, he soon learns he doesn’t have to after Scrat sends an asteroid toward Earth. The herd must direct all their attention to searching out a new home.

7 Everyone’s Hero (5.7)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

This 2006 sports comedy film tells of a 10-year-old baseball fan nicknamed Yankee who lives during the Great Depression era. After getting mixed into a scheme involving Babe Ruth’s famous bat Darlin’, Yankee must figure out how to set things right.

The tale felt unoriginal and bland, and the visuals struggled to hold up against other animated releases of the time. There’s a reason you probably forgot about Everyone’s Hero, that is, if you’ve ever even heard of it.

6 Walking With Dinosaurs (5.2)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

The creators of Walking with Dinosaurs tried to be innovative by putting computer-animated dinos against live-action settings. However, without a good story, all the imaginative effects in the world won’t save a film.

The movie followed a dinosaur living during the Cretaceous Period named Patchi who must figure out how to overcome his status as the runt. He might just get the chance he deserves after a fire separates Patchi, Scowler, and Juniper from the rest of the group.

Critics found that the humor and script were weak. Additionally, the animation failed to come out polished.

5 Condorito: The Movie (5.2)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

This Chilean-Peruvian action-comedy took inspiration from the comic book series of the same name by Pepo.

The film follows the dim-witted bird Condorito, who hopes to win the affection of the lovely Yayita. To do so, he goes on a journey with his nephew to rescue his mother from an evil extraterrestrial creature.

If you thought the plot sounded strange, you wouldn’t be alone. The style of humor also failed to resonate with general audiences in America.

4 Cheech & Chong’s Animated Movie (4.7)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

Comedy duo Cheech and Chong teamed together for this animated movie which features many of their original comedy sketches.

Though fans were expecting an adventure story, they were disappointed to find that the bits felt disconnected from each other. Additionally, the animated style felt unnecessary, as most everything that happened on screen could have easily happened in a live-action film. Any spark of imagination was absent.

3 Monkeybone (4.7)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

In 2001, Brendan Fraser, Bridget Fonda, and Whoopi Goldberg teamed up for a dark comedy that mixed live-action with stop-motion animation. Though Fraser starred in many iconic films during the late-90s and early 2000s including The Mummy and George of the Jungle, not every film of his received the same kind of recognition; Monkeybone is one of those that fell short.

The film follows a cartoonist whose Monkeybone comic strip comes to life after he is sucked into the limbo-like Down Town.

Viewers didn’t find the humor to be engaging. Additionally, the visuals were sporadic and the story unengaging.

2 Worms (4.6)

Twentieth Century Studios The 10 Worst Animated Movies (According To IMDb)

This 2013 Brazillian stop-motion adventure fantasy tells of a preteen worm who accidentally ends up above ground. After living his whole life under the overprotective habits of his mother, he must summon up the courage he needs to wiggle his way home.

The visuals failed to impress as did the American voice cast, which featured a slew of names that were unrecognizable. The basic story didn’t help the film’s cause.

1 Space Chimps (4.5)

Topping off the list as the lowest-rated Twentieth Century animation is Space Chimps.

This 2008 sci-fi film tells of a group of monkies that ventures into space and lands on an alien planet. Though the film received a direct-to-video sequel in 2010, it definitely wasn’t deserved.

Critics found that the visuals and writing felt out-dated, especially when compared to the higher-quality animations put out by Pixar during the 2000s.
