The Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption games are very much alike as they feature open-worlds with protagonists who can do pretty much anything. Due to this similarity, fans of either series have taken to taking shots at the other, claiming their fandom is better. At the end of the day, you can’t fight what you love, and the fact of the matter is there are more GTA fans than there are Red Dead Redemption fans. While the latter series has been a huge success in its own right, it hasn’t managed to snag all of the GTA playerbase.

So, when the world was out playing the latest Red Dead Redemption game, GTA fans were content with the game they’ve now had for about seven years. You have to give credit to Rockstar, too, as GTA V has had enough replay value for fans to shun an entirely new game in its favor.
