Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria are the newest Tales games to come out. While there was some controversy surrounding Zestiria , it ended up being well-received by fans on launch. It was only natural that Bandai wanted to bring the pair of games to life in an anime series titled Tales of Zestiria X. Many fans and non-fans of the series have praised the anime adaptation.

In addition, some fans have even stated that they feel that the anime is superior to the game in many ways and feels more fleshed out.

9 Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy is no stranger to the anime world, which makes XV’s prequel anime no surprise to fans. The anime gives the fans a glimpse at the events that take place before the game starts. The story centers around players who are falling comatose while playing the game and the heroes that set out to rescue them. The game had several animes made, including the prequel .Hack//Sign, .Hack//Roots, and several spin-offs that better flesh out the games wold.

6 Persona 5

Persona 5 is the stylish JRPG that took the world by storm in 2016. It’s no surprise that the series got a full anime adaption that covers the main story. Sadly, many fans found the anime to be lackluster and feel a bit rushed compared to the game. He is told by the student council president to try out the game in order to prove it isn’t a negative influence on the school. The anime follows the adventure of Itsuki both in the game and on campus.

This is another anime series the received mixed feelings from fans. Many felt that the anime was a bit boring to watch while others loved the condensed story.

3 Yo-Kai Watch

Yo-Kai Watch became a sensation in Japan and quickly gained its own anime series. The anime does follow the plot of the game to some degree, but for the most part, focuses on the Yokai. Granblue Fantasy is a bit different from other games on the list as it is a mobile game. Even so, the game has amassed tons of popularity for its innovative battle system and characters. At first, the series only received an OVA in Japan. It was so popular that it even got an anime in 2017 that followed the events of the game. The series was well-received by fans in Japan and is currently airing its second season on TV.

The story follows protagonist Gran as he and his crew work through tense political situations.

1 God Eater

God Eater received an adaption of the first game in the series that debuted in 2015. The anime closely follows the events that unfolded in the game and received praise from fans of the series. The anime was well animated and adapted the story in an easy to follow format that newcomers could easily jump into.

Like the game, the anime follows Lenka, who has the ability to destroy the monster plaguing the land. The protagonist finds themselves quickly becoming the leader of their unit and must figure out how to navigate their new role.
