In 2007, Will Ferrell teamed up with Jon Heder for a sports comedy called Blades of Glory. While the movie looked like a bomb from the start, it ended up surprising people. The film finished with a 70-percent Rotten Tomatoes score, meaning it was deemed fresh. It also made over $145 million at the box office, making it a financial success as well.

The movie had Ferrell and Heder star as rival figure skaters who were polar opposites but managed to tie for the gold medal at the 2002 World Winter Sport Games. They end up in a fight, which gets them banned for life. However, when they learn of a loophole that lets them back in for doubles, they team up and take the world by storm.

10 Dodgeball (2004)

Released in 2004, Dodgeball was a Vince Vaughn comedy at the height of his rise as a star. He stars as Peter LaFleur, the owner of a gym. When the owner of a new gym across the street buys the building he is in, he gives him 30 days to raise $50,000, or he loses his business.

He ends up entering a dodgeball tournament with some guys from his gym, including Pirate Steve (Alan Tudyk), Justin (Justin Long), and Gordon (Stephen Root). They end up as the underdog team to beat, especially when they face the team ran by uber-aggressive White Goodman (Ben Stiller).

He not only owns the team but makes himself the head coach and the starting power forward. When he learns the ABA is folding, and only four teams will move to the NBA, he tries to build a winner while also holding elaborate stunts to bring in big crowds.
