10 Pokémon Ash Effortlessly Caught

When he first started out, Ash only had one Pikachu to help him on his path to become a Pokémon Trainer. The electric Pokémon, who was given to him by Professor Oak, didn’t quite respect Ash in the beginning. In fact, it was quite testy towards him, disobeying him whenever it could. But soon Pikachu grew to admire Ash and understand that he was a kind-hearted and loving Trainer, leading to the two creating an ever-lasting bond.

Not only has Ash’s warm and caring nature won over Pikachu, but it has been instrumental in easily catching quite a few other Pokémon. In their eagerness to have Ash as their trainer, some of these Pokémon have incessantly followed him, jumped into his backpack, and even bonded directly with the Pokémon in Ash’s company.

The first time they came to meet each other, in “A Meteoric Rise to Excellence!”, Gible was obsessed with mastering the Draco Meteor, a move that allows the Pokémon to shower comets on its enemies. No matter how many times it tried though, it just couldn’t get the move right. But Ash saw Gible’s determination and expressed a desire to help the little Pokémon achieve its goal.

Later on, Gible starts to follow Ash around, still learning how to perfect the Draco Meteor move. At one point, in “Gotta Get a Gible!”, when the Pokémon gets lost and cries out, Ash instantly decides to rescue it. The duo had a more troublesome time a bit later, when Team Rocket tried to kidnap both of them. But they both came out of the ordeal stronger afterward. Seeing the deepening friendship between the two, Ash suggested that Meltan join his troupe and stay with Rowlet all the time, and the wild Pokémon did just that.

Froakie was a bit on the stubborn side. Though born in the wild, it focused less on enjoying the surroundings with its fellow Froakies and more on training to become a better Pokémon. This caused friction in the group, which further led Nurse Joy to hand the reclusive Froakie to Professor Sycamore, to ensure it would soon get to be with a Trainer who would help it get stronger.

But this little Pokémon turned out to be quite picky and swiveled through many trainers before setting his sights on Ash. It even helped Ash out in a battle with Team Rocket. After the fight, back at the professor’s lab, it was quite eager to join Ash’s team. In the most adorable manner, it voluntarily lets itself be caught.

Once, it carried a wind chime over to his family, another time it mistook another Pokémon, Mallow’s Bounsweet, to be a fruit.

It was during the second misguided effort that it found itself getting terribly tired and falling to the ground. Thankfully, Ash was right below and he caught the poor Pokémon and gave it some fruit to eat.
