Giratina holds dominion over the dark wasteland, the Distortion World. If Team Rocket were to properly acquire Giratina’s power they could manipulate this ability and use the Distortion World for their own personal prison. Giratina isn’t the easiest Pokémon to make compliant, but Team Rocket can be incredibly motivated.

5 Rotom’s Technological Abilities Make It Incredibly Versatile

There are a handful of atypical Pokémon that feature an attempt from the series to do something different and explore a unique avenue with a Pokémon design. Rotom first gets introduced in Generation IV and he’s a bizarre combination of Ghost- and Electric-Types that has a gimmick where he can possess different appliances.

Team Rocket has an affinity for messing around with technology and building evil contraptions and it seems like Rotom could be essential in this regard as well as a Pokémon that ultimately gives them more strategy options than Pikachu.

There is so much that Team Rocket could accomplish with this ability and Celebi is extremely advantageous for their missions even if they never even used Celebi for combat. Celebi could allow Team Rocket to always have the upper hand against Ash and company.

The Pokémon series has steadily incorporated rogue elements into its Pokémon and Deoxys is an extremely unusual Pokédex addition considering that its origins are as an extraterrestrial virus. This virus mutates after its exposure to a laser beam and it creates this powerful Psychic-Type Pokémon from Generation III.

Deoxys is a serious threat that’s gotten his due in some of the Pokémon feature films. Deoxys feels like the type of mad science that Team Rocket dabbles in and so it’s not difficult to picture them harnessing its energy and taking it to even more dangerous places.

2 Gengar’s Hypnosis Makes Him A Terrifying & Dangerous Team Rocket Ally

There are plenty of factors to consider when it comes to Pokémon and something that Team Rocket frequently pays attention to is their branding and if their Pokémon feel like a good fit for Team Rocket’s aggressive image.

Pikachu isn’t the first Pokémon that comes to mind for the evil group, but Gengar is an original Ghost-Type Pokémon from Kanto that is a perfect fit. Gengar’s mischievous attitude is a great fit, but it’s his Hypnosis ability that’s especially useful and could allow Team Rocket to do some serious damage.

1 Mewtwo Raw Power & Disdain For Humanity Perfectly Aligns With Team Rocket’s Agenda

The Pokémon series tends to deal with more human villains than Pokémon antagonists, but one of the largest disruptors in the Pokémon universe remains the genetically engineered experiment from Gen I, Mewtwo. Mewtwo’s rage towards both humans and Pokémon, as well as his immense psychic abilities, becomes the focus of Pokémon’s first feature film.
