10 Pokémon That Gain A New Type When They Evolve

Pokémon transform in a number of ways when they evolve. They can change color, species, category, and gain a new type. This can benefit them in giving them STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) moves and giving them new resistances and immunities.

Gaining a new type can also put a Pokémon at a disadvantage, however. With a change of type comes a change in what a Pokémon is weak to, what it’s immune to, and what resistances it has. While most Pokémon benefit when they evolve, increasing in size as well as stats, some can actually put themselves at a disadvantage.
