These are the Pokémon that seem harmless but pack enough of a punch to destroy on a colossal level. These are the Pokémon no one should underestimate if they value their lives. These are tiny Pokémon that are surprisingly powerful.

10 Mew Looks Like A Cat But Is Actually A Mythical Psychic-Type

Thought to be a long-extinct Pokémon, Mew is a carefree, childish being that has evaded detection using its invisibility and transformation. While the little fella doesn’t seem all that impressive, it’s one of the few Pokémon to match Mewtwo’s might when they came to blows in the first Pokémon movie. Since it is also theorized to be the progenitor of Pokémon, Mew is also capable of mastering numerous techniques including an exclusive Z-move. Hard to believe that there are Pokémon more powerful.

9 Mimikyu Can Kill Those Who Look Under Its Rags

Many have tried and failed to imitate Pikachu’s cuteness, but their attempts have been fairly harmless. The exception to this is Mimikyu, a shadowy Pokémon that hides underneath a creepy Pikachu design. It’s a sad, lonely creature, but it isn’t just because it is shy around new people.

It probably has to do with the fact that those who attempted to peek underneath the rags have met a grisly, mysterious death. It’s unclear if the Mimikyu does this intentionally or not, but should anyone damage its costume, it will hunt them down and exact revenge. This proves that curiosity can kill the cat.

8 Mudbray Is Stronger Than It Looks

What makes most Pokémon stand out are their immense reality-altering powers or abilities that surpass other Pokémon of their stature. Mudbray falls in the latter category as it is far stronger than it appears. One would think it wouldn’t achieve super-strength until it evolved but not in this case. Although it looks like a mere colt, it can carry up to 50 times its body weight. That’s about the same rate as an ant! Just think of how much it can handle once it becomes Mudsdale.

7 Sandygast Can Control The Minds Of Others

Compared to other Pokémon, Sandygast doesn’t look like it has much to offer. It’s basically a living pile of sand, so one would think that it wouldn’t have much to offer aside from some earth-based attacks.

That all changes once a human or Pokémon touches the toy shovel protruding from its head, allowing Sandygast to take control over. In this way, it forces its victims to make it larger and continuously pile more sand on top of it. And its evolved form is even larger and just as dangerous.

6 Mawile Has A Powerful Bite

If not for the large, jagged jaws extending from the top of Mawile’s head, it makes for a cuddly Pokémon. As is, this is a Pokémon that no one should get bitten by. That sounds like it should go without saying, but Mawile’s bite isn’t just going to leave a mark or poison people. Its jaw can chew up iron beams, and if Pokémon wasn’t made for younger audiences in mind, Mawile would likely tear off limbs when provoked. Rather than take any chances, just try not to upset any Mawile.

5 Cosmog Can Create Portals To Other Dimensions

Cosmog is not known as an aggressive creature but rather responds well to people that offer kindness to it. It will typically avoid danger but is willing to risk itself for the people it cares about. While Cosmog makes a wonderful ally, it can also be highly dangerous thanks to its ability to make unstable portals to other dimensions when stressed. While crossing over isn’t inherently threatening, anyone who falls in gets targeted by Ultra Beasts due to the lingering dimensional energy. It’s not going to destroy the world anytime soon, but caution must be exercised.

4 Grimer Can Corrupt Ecosystems

When people think of powerful Pokémon, they think of ones that have flashy abilities that cause the kind of destruction worthy of a Michael Bay film. This results in small Pokémon like Grimer being overlooked and underestimated. What other creature aside from Grimer’s evolved form is so poisonous that can make the land it oozes across unable to grow plant life?

Without proper precautions, Grimer could devastate the world and cause unimaginable damage to the environment. Fortunately, there is a powerful Pokémon that might be able to undo the damage.

3 Celebi Can Time Travel & Control Nature

Celebi isn’t the strongest Pokémon ever, but its powers are exceptional. It’s already impressive that this nature spirit can heal wounds and revive plant life, but Celebi’s claim to fame is its ability to travel through time. In the wrong hands, Celebi’s powers could be harnessed to destroy plant life and grant people visions of the future. Thankfully, Celebi is a kind soul that is always willing to help the wounded and preserve the forests. Its existence serves as proof that there will be a bright future.

2 Unown Can Rewrite Reality

At first glance, there isn’t anything noteworthy about Unown. They are basically floating letters in an unusual font that don’t exactly scream powerful. That may be the case when they are divided, but when united, the Unown can warp reality to suit the desires of whoever gains control over them. This is easier said than done since Unown rarely leave their home dimension, and it’s tricky to catch enough of them. Considering the reward, it might be worth the time and energy.

If anyone is in the market for a star to wish upon, look no further than Jirachi. An incredibly rare Pokémon that hibernates for a thousand years, and when it awakens, it chooses someone to become its friend as it did with Max. One of the perks of being Jirachi’s friend is it can grant three wishes before inevitably going back into hibernation for another thousand years. This gives the wish-granter and their friend endless possibilities on how to spend the one week. While it is a shame that the friendship has to end after a week, there’s no denying that they’ll never have another friend like this.
