Among the things that Scooby-Doo is famous for as a franchise is its many crossovers, both in television shows and movies. This includes celebrity guest stars from the real world, as well as interacting with fictional characters from a different franchise altogether.

Even whole Scooby-Doo spinoffs are dedicated to this concept, such as The New Scooby-Doo Movies from 1972, along with the newest series Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? While most of them are fun enough, some are objectively strange if one thinks about them long enough. So here is a list of arguably the strangest Scooby-Doo crossovers.

Of course, new direct-to-video Scooby-Doo movies are being released almost every single year. As such, new crossovers can happen such as with the upcoming release of Scooby-Doo Meets Courage The Cowardly Dog: Straight Outta Nowhere, a combination of cartoons that is equally as insane as it is fitting. There are also more and equally bizarre crossovers that have occurred across the very fifty years of television and movies featuring Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc. that are worth mentioning.

12 Scooby-Doo Meets Steve Urkel

Superheroes and other famous Hanna-Barbera cartoons? That makes sense in a way but one of the strangest crossovers was when Scooby and the Gang allied with Steve Urkel from Family Matters. Voiced by Jaleel White himself, the episode of Scooby-Doo And Guess Who? features Urkel using a robot clone to try and get a World War II artifact from a museum.

Keep in mind that this is a show that’s had Scooby-Doo team up with Morgan Freeman, Alex Trebek, and musical artist Sia. There is a lot to choose from in terms of strange but Urkel manages to take the cake.

11 Scooby-Doo Meets Blue Falcon And Dynomutt

One of the main highlights of Scoob! were the superheroes Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, though this isn’t the first time the Daring Duo has collaborated with Mystery, Inc.

Originally, Dynomutt and Blue Falcon debuted on Dynomutt, Dog Wonder, which was part of The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour, with Mystery, Inc. occasionally showing up. Later, the two cameoed on Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and the direct-to-video movie Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon.

10 Scooby-Doo Meets Harvey Birdman

When the Adult Swim program first premiered, it had several shows that made fun of Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Chief among them was Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law.

A legal parody show featuring a redesigned main character from Birdman and the Galaxy Trio, it referenced many Hanna-Barbera shows. This included a Scooby-Doo-themed episode titled “Shaggy Busted,” where Harvey Birdman is hired to defend Scooby and Shaggy who are accused of being drug users.

9 Scooby-Doo Meets Johnny Bravo

Prior to Adult Swim’s Hanna-Barbera parodies, there was an episode of Cartoon Network’s Johnny Bravo which parodied Scooby-Doo, called “Bravo Dooby-Doo.” Premiering during Johnny Bravo’s first season, it featured the titular character meeting Mystery, Inc.

Together, they head to a creepy house at the top of a hill where Johnny’s Aunt Jebidisa supposedly lives. Instead, they encounter a scary gardener ghost which leads to the usual self-aware Scooby-Doo-related hi-jinx.

8 Scooby-Doo Meets Batman

Given that Scooby-Doo revolves around teen sleuths solving mysteries, why not have them team up with Batman? This partnership began with two episodes in The New Scooby-Doo Movies series, which premiered one year before Super Friends.

Then a few decades later, the cult-favorite animated series, Batman: The Brave And The Bold did two crossovers with Scooby-Doo on TV and in a direct-to-video movie. Batman has even shown up on Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?

7 Scooby-Doo Meets The Addams Family

It is The Addams Family after all: it is going to be inherently weird no matter what. Even on their own, the creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky Addams family live to be as strange and macabre as possible on the daily basis.

With the voices of John Astin, Carolyn Jones, and other Addams Family alumni, this crossover, while strange ended up being a perfect match. The dialogue and banter were on point which is why this special would act as a precursor to The Addams Family animated series. It was the crossover of two cultural giants since the original series of The Addams Family was still a bonafide hit with many classic episodes.

6 Scooby-Doo Meets The Winchester Brothers

During the 13th season of Supernatural, there was one episode that got a lot of attention, known as “Scoobynatural.” As the title implies, it was a crossover between Supernatural and Scooby-Doo.

The premise is that Sam and Dean get sucked into a Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? episode titled “A Night of Fright Is No Delight.” The two have to team up with Scooby and the gang to solve the mystery and get out.

5 Scooby-Doo Meets The Harlem Globetrotters

While Space Jam and its long-awaited sequel seemed like an odd combination of cartoon characters and real-life basketball players, it wasn’t the first attempt at this crossover.

Two decades prior, Mystery, Inc. teamed up with the Harlem Globetrotters in The New Scooby-Doo Movies, in the episodes “The Mystery of Haunted Island” and “The Loch Ness Mess,” in which Scooby and the gang meet cartoon versions of Globetrotters players. Some notable members included Freddie “Curly” Neal and Meadowlark Lemon.

4 Scooby-Doo Meets Bobby Flay & Giada De Laurentiis

What happens when professional chefs go up against the supernatural? We get movies like Scooby-Doo! and the Gourmet Ghost. Yet another direct-to-video Scooby-Doo film, the story involves Mystery, Inc. being invited to an inn owned by renowned chef Bobby Flay, who is revealed to be Fred’s uncle.

But soon after they arrive, a ghost starts haunting the inn. Other celebrity chefs show up as well, like Giada De Laurentiis and Marcus Samuelsson.

3 Scooby-Doo Meets The Teen Titans

While Robin was present in The New Scooby-Doo Movies Batman-related episodes, he and the Teen Titans also interacted with Scooby and the gang in Teen Titans Go! with the episode “Cartoon Feud.”

In it, the Teen Titans get transported to a Family Feud-style game, show along with Mystery, Inc. The two are forced to compete against each other with the cancellation of their respective shows at stake. One of many bizarre episodes to come from Teen Titans Go!

2 Scooby-Doo Meets WWE

When it comes to cartoon violence, it’s usually not realistic and therefore watchable for anybody, no matter how squeamish. Yet there are some cartoons that blur this distinction, such as the Scooby-Doo/WWE crossover movies.

Beginning with Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery and then followed up with Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon, these films have Mystery, Inc. interacting with WWE wrestlers, including John Cena and The Undertaker.

1 Scooby-Doo Meets Kiss

Though Scooby-Doo and Mystery, Inc. have met several guest star musicians, arguably their strangest encounter happened in Scooby-Doo! and Kiss: Rock and Roll Mystery. Yes, this is a movie where Scooby-Doo and the gang interact with the band Kiss.

On top of this, the actual members of Kiss voice their respective cartoon counterparts. Plot-wise, it revolves around a Kiss-themed amusement park that is haunted by a witch who is looking for a magic diamond.
