Yesterday, we found out that WB Games is going to be making a major announcement in August during something called the DC FanDome event, which we kinda glossed over since WB Games didn’t really tell us what it was all about. That, and we were a little bit more focused on the potential announcement of a new Batman game.

Well, now we know what the DC FanDome event is, and it’s basically an online convention for DC fans. Surprised? Not really, but we’re all trying to get through the pandemic together. Might as well dress up as Superman at home.

DC FanDome will take place on August 22, starting at 10 AM PST, and run for 24-hours straight. While the big draw for gamers will be the game announcements, DC will also host actors, filmmakers, and various other folks involved in their media empire as they put on talks, behind the scenes previews, and trailers for upcoming TV shows and movies.

Such as Wonder Woman 1984, which is hopefully still coming out this fall at some point. As with everything during the coronavirus pandemic, there are no guarantees.

Everything is going to be online at DCFanDome.com. To make things a bit easier to digest, DC has broken the site down into six components. Starting with the Hall of Heroes, you’ll then be given access to five subsections of the FanDome, depending on what sort of media you want to consume.

For trailers, previews, and inside looks at various DC TV and films like Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn, The Suicide Squad, Watchmen, and more, head to the DC WatchVerse. For cosplay and fanart, head out to the DC YouVerse. For a “broad range of family-friendly activities for our younger fans,” go to the DC KidsVerse. For interviews with DC CCO/Publisher Jim Lee, President of DC-Based Film Production Walter Hamada, and DC TV Arrowverse creator/Executive Producer Greg Berlanti, head to the DC InsiderVerse. And for merch, go to the DC FunVerse. It’s like a digital gift shop.

Anyway, mark your calendars for August 22 and bookmark the DC FanDome website. We’ll check back in a few months to see how it goes.
