Salamence isn’t only a Pokémon many forget isn’t legendary, but it’s a creature Izuku wouldn’t want on his team because of its uncontrollable behavior when happy or angry. Although the Salamence species are fierce dragons with incredible moves like Outrage, Draco Meteor, and others, their chaotic behavior and habits will make Izuku not want one.

If anyone were to anger Salamence, t he dragon would go on an uncontrollable rampage, shooting fire from its mouth and using other offensive Pokémon attacks toward anyone in its path, even small children. Considering Izuku’s heroism, he wouldn’t want this beast on his team.

Infernape is not just a Pokémon many argue Ash should use more often, but its fiery personality and superb combat skills will excite Izuku enough to want one for himself. As depicted in the Pokémon anime, Infernape is powerful Pokémon that love fighting and don’t tend to back down from a challenge.

Infernape’s original Diamond and Pearl Pokedex entries state that Infernape fights using a specific martial arts style and are quick on their feet. Considering Izuku is still trying to become the best hero imaginable, having an Infernape to train alongside himself could enhance his fighting skills.

Arbok’s not only a vicious Poison-type Pokémon that made the Pokémon Adventures manga feel surprisingly violent with its battle against a Psyduck, but it’s a creature Izuku wouldn’t want to be around. The Arbok species will attack anyone near it because of their territorial background.

Considering Izuku’s friend circle, he wouldn’t want an Arbok biting someone like Uraraka or Ida randomly. On that note, Arbok also loves to wrap around their enemies and feast on them without hesitation. To protect his friends and loved ones, Izuku wouldn’t let an Arbok get a spot in his team.

The Breloom species isn’t only in many adoring GrassPokémon fanart, these Pokémon possess fighting skills, and various status moves may be appealing to Izuku. Despite their plant-like look, the Breloom species can deliver fast punches like any professional boxer and utilize many grass-based Pokémon attacks to overwhelm their opponents.

For instance, the move Spore allows Breloom to put a foe to sleep for some time, allowing the Pokémon to attack it directly or give it time to store up power via moves like Swords Dance or Bulk Up. Having a companion that can put foes to sleep would be incredibly useful for Izuku.

5 Would Not Want: Confagrigus Because They’re Terrifying Ghost Pokemon Who’ll Mummify Humans

5 Pokémon Izuku Midoriya Would Want On His Team (& 5 He Wouldnt)

Confragrigus isn’t only a terrifying ghost Pokémon many trainers fear, but its horrid nature will influence Deku to steer clear from catching it. Not only does this Pokémon’s red eyes make many feel like they’re peering into one’s soul, but its Pokedex entry will send a chill down manys’ spines.

Confagrigus love to capture people and transform them into mummies, insinuating they’re human killers. Although this entry could be pointing toward evil-doers, the fact that Confagrigus is capable of such foul play will convince Izuku not to want one.

4 Would Want: Flygon Because Of Their Battle Strategies And History Of Collaborating With Others

Although fans will argue that Flygon’s appearance makes it too much of a must-have in Izuku’s eyes, the Flygon species have many feats that may interest Izuku further. For example, being a ground and dragon-type Pokémon allows Flygon to be immune from electric attacks and gives the creature some powerful offensive moves like Draco Meteor, Earthquake, and others.

Not only that but Flygon love to use their terrain to their advantage and can sometimes shroud their foes in large sandstorms, making it difficult for their opponents to pinpoint their location. Flygon can be great teammates toward other Pokémon as they’re known to team up with Krookodile to find food.

The Hypno species won’t hesitate to attack anything in their way and are known to hypnotize their prey and devour their dreams.

Moreover, some Hypno love to hunt small children and kidnap them from their families for reasons unknown. Considering Hypno is committing heinous acts, Izuku wouldn’t want a horrid kidnapping Pokémon like them on his team.

One of the most iconic electric type Pokémon that Izuku would want on his team is Pikachu. Though Pikachu may look small and adorable, its species can pack a shocking punch when they’re against powerful opponents.

With moves like Volt Tackle to special attacks like Thunderbolt, Pikachu would work well aside Izuku, who can produce some electric sparks of his own. Furthermore, if Ash’s relationship with his Pikachu from season one to Pokémon Journeys has anything to say about Pikachu’s attitude, it’s that in, time; Izuku can also create a tight bond with one.

1 Would Not Want: Gengar Because Of Their Prankster Habits And Cruel Attitude

A ghost-type Pokémon that’d probably want to joke around and mess with Izuku daily than be a companion to him would be Gengar. Although Gengar can be great allies because of the moves they can learn, their species tend to lean more toward deception and disorder.

Gengar loves to prank and frighten humans, to amuse themselves, and don’t feel bad afterward. Gengar’s appearance doesn’t help in the matter either, as its large teeth and eyes may cause some of Izuku’s friends to cower under the covers. Therefore, to avoid issues with the public, Izuku wouldn’t want a Gengar on his team.
