Vought is the creator of nearly every living superhero in the world, and nearly every living superhero in the world is employed by and under the thumb of Vought. And while they present themselves as a relatively wholesome corporation built around superheroes, the truth of their creation and purpose is far darker.

It should come as no surprise, then, that two of the superhumans that are the most essential to Vought’s story are also two of the most terrifying beings in the world. But when it comes to who is the scariest, is Homelander the most frightening, or does Stormfront have him beat?

10 Homelander: Because He Thinks He’s A God

One of the most terrifying aspects of Homelander is that he quite literally believes that he is a god among men. Yes, he’s a supe, and he’s probably the most powerful supe on earth, but there’s still a “human” on the end of the word superhuman.

He also has people like Stillwell who reinforce this narrative for him, and the constant repetition that he’s above all other people makes him very dangerous.

9 Stormfront: Because She’s Creating A “Master Race”

While most of Vought’s heroes are nothing more than puppets for the company, Stormfront is a true mover and shaker. She has been doing work behind the scenes at Vought since Vought existed, and as the boys recently discovered, she was working on creating an entire race of superhumans.

Sage Grove Center was just a front for Stormfront’s experiments with Compound V on adult humans, and it was a terrifying insight into the scope of her ideas and plans.

8 Homelander: Because He Can Charm The World

Homelander might be evil personified, but no one in the world would know it besides those close to him. While he’s cruel, violent, and seems to like killing people, to most of the planet he’s the American ideal.

He’s the hero that everyone loves and aspires to be, and the fact that everyone trusts him and loves him so much gives him even more power.

7 Stormfront: Because She Wants A Revolution

Again, the vast majority of supes in the world are doing nothing more than angling for a good contract with Vought, and possibly a spot in the Seven. And even the few that have legitimate goals set their sights lower than Stormfront does.

In contrast to the rest of the superheroes, Stormfront has a long term goal, and that goal is to literally revolutionize the world and make the white race into the only race.

6 Homelander: Because He’ll Kill Someone He Loves

In a weird way, Homelander does seem to have feelings, but he’s an absolute lunatic and he will turn on anyone for nearly any reason.

Madelyn Stillwell was his obsession in season 1, and he seemed to only care about her. He went out of his way to do anything he could to help her, and he appeared to both see her as a mother figure and be in romantic love with her. But the moment he felt betrayed by her, he killed her.

5 Stormfront: Because She Likes Hurting People

Homelander seems to have complete disregard for all human life, and he will absolutely kill someone when it is remotely convenient for him. But what makes Stormfront just a tad bit scarier is that she seems downright sadistic.

She doesn’t just want to kill people, she wants to make them suffer, and she seems to experience genuine pleasure from being the one to cause suffering.

4 Homelander: Because He Has No Regard For Human Life

But on the other hand, even though she’s a violent, murderous racist, it can’t be said that Stormfront doesn’t care about human life at all, just as long as it’s the right shade.

On the other hand, Homelander seems to look at people in the way that most people would look at a bug. He will let people die and will kill them himself for his convenience, or just because he’s in the mood for murder.

3 Stormfront: Because She’s A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing

Although she delivered the message quite brutally, Stormfront was right in that Homelander is a quite cheesy and dated kind of superhero.

What made Stormfront so likable at first was that she knew exactly how to appeal to everyone in a modern and seemingly genuine way. She’s clearly a master of propaganda and manipulation, and that makes her even scarier.

2 Homelander: Because He Wants In The Military

Homelander and Vought at large is very keenly interested in integrating themselves into the American military. Yes, they’re already extremely powerful, but having the military might of one of the most militaristic countries behind them would make them unstoppable.

Clearly Homelander is not satisfied being relegated to a living action figure, and if he has to murder a plane full of people to make it happen, then he won’t hesitate.

1 Stormfront: Because She’s A Literal Nazi

It probably doesn’t even need to be said, but the reason why Stormfront is Vought’s scariest supe is because she is literally a Nazi. She and her Nazi husband created a Nazi corporation called Vought so they could use their superheroes to enforce their Nazi ideology on the rest of the world.

She is the world’s first Übermensch (or Überfrau), and she has been tirelessly planning for an Aryan revolution since the Nazi regime began.
