8 Cerulean City

It was first seen in Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow but can be found in multiple games due to Cerulean City being such a prominent and well-loved place in the expansive world of Pokemon. 7 Heahea City

It’s hard to not remember pretty much every location in the wonderful Alola region. That’s not only because it’s beautiful but because it’s based on the even more beautiful Hawaii. Many say that if you love Alola then you’ll feel right at home in Hawaii and vice versa.

One of the best towns in the Alola region is Heahea City. It feels like it combines the down-to-earth towns of Hawaii with the quaint and beautiful cities that many love to visit. Heahea City was founded by people from Johto and Kanto, so it has some little aspects of those beloved regions within.

6 Pallet Town

Pallet Town is an older Pokemon fan’s dream. It’s the home of Professor Oak and the beginning of hours of enjoyment in the world of Pokemon.

Pallet Town almost embodies the theme of Pokemon to most fans. It’s a beautiful town with stunning music and a homely feel that will take all your worries and cares away, allowing you to fully embed yourself into the world of Pokemon.

5 Pewter City

While not the most exciting location in the Pokemon franchise, Pewter City is home to some pure nostalgia, the wonderful Brock, and the beautiful Museum of Science.

Pewter City is the first accessible gym in the entire series and that happens to be good old Brock. It’s a battle that’s extremely memorable and hard to hate, even if you’re getting destroyed by his Pokemon.

It also has the Museum of Science to explore, keeping you in awe of all it holds, as well as keeping you guessing about that room on the side where the scientists bring the fossils back to life.

4 Lavender Town

While many other locations in the Pokemon world boast their beauty and their gym leaders, Lavender Town aims to boast their rather spooky atmosphere. While that isn’t for everyone, it’s what sets the town apart from the rest and makes it a location to remember.

Lavender Town has a multitude of interesting things to participate in and look around, as well as being home to a fair few Ghost-Type Pokemon if that’s what you need to catch ’em all. Nevertheless, the combination of the gothic atmosphere, creepy scenery, and beautiful music make this location one no one ever forgets.

3 Saffron City

Snuggled right between the popular cities of Celadon City, Vermilion City, and Cerulean City, Saffron City can easily be forgotten about or even missed if you’re not interested in it. However, you’ll be missing out in more ways than one if you don’t take time out of your game to come take a look at Saffron City.

Home to the most populated city in the Kanto region, you’ll have to be actively avoiding this place to not stumble into it. However, once you do you’ll never want to get out. It’s a wonderful location that brings back tons of memories as well as a load of different things to do, people to visit, pokemon to catch, and, of course, a trainer to battle. Ultimately, Saffron City is one of the most prominent places in the Kanto region and should absolutely not be missed.

2 Mt. Coronet

When thinking of the most iconic locations in the Pokemon world, it’s really easy to jump straight to the likes of beautiful towns and cities or stunning beaches that make your jaw drop. However, sometimes all you’re looking for when playing Pokemon is a nice little dungeon. This is where Mt. Coronet comes in.

If you want to test your Pokemon’s skill and power as well as your own then this is where you would end up. It’s truly an iconic location that gives you a challenging dungeon that spans the entire region. Perfect for anyone wanting a little endless battle.

1 Azalea Town

With lovely laid-back music, an interesting back story, and a very useful NPC to meet, Azalea Town is extremely important and an absolutely iconic place to visit, purely for their Slowpoke obsession and their link to the legendary Celebi, depending on the game you’re playing.

The NPC you meet is Kurt, he shows you all you need to know about those weird Apricorns you happen to get hold of. He also makes you some special Pokeballs and gives them to you completely free of charge, and is a pretty good clue in catching the legendary Celebi if you’re playing the Japanese version of Crystal. All that is great but the townspeople’s love for Slowpoke is just hilariously interesting. The town provides a full backstory that’s absolutely worth checking out next time you head to Azalea Town.
