Evelin Villegas finally told the truth to Instagram fans about her secret marriage with 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way partner Corey Rathgeber. Washington native Corey and Ecuador’s Evelin have been in a relationship since 2014 and were introduced to TLC viewers in season 1 of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off. The pair were engaged in the series finale, but when they returned to season 3, Corey admitted to cheating on Evelin. However, she forgave him and still yes to marrying him. In the latest episode, Evelin shockingly revealed that the rumors were true and she has been married to Corey for a year. Fans called out the couple on their fakery and Evelin took to IG to clarify things.

Never a fan-favorite, Evelin recently angered fans when she demanded a $50,000 wedding from Corey. But fans who were getting increasingly tired of the Corey and Evelin marriage plot couldn’t stop discussing the allegations that they were married a few years ago and were keeping up a fabricated storyline on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. It has been rumored that Corey and Evelin married in an intimate ceremony a year before they filmed their proposal. Moreover, 90 Day Fiancé star Laura Jallali, who was in Ecuador with the couple after her split from Aladin Jallali, claimed Corey and Evelin admitted to the fake story.

As 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode 4 approaches, Evelin did a Q&A with Instagram fans where she was asked, “Are the rumors true you & Cory [sic] are already married?” Blogger John Yates reposted the stories where Evelin confessed that back in 2019, when they were done filming, she and Corey were in a happy place. They needed to get married for Corey to stay in the country, so Evelin agreed to the union. “It was a private moment just for me and him. No one was aware, not anyone in my family, not even one of my friends,” Evelin added. As per Evelin, they chose to not share this information even with their close loved ones as she wasn’t ready to do so.

“This has nothing to do with the show,” Evelin explained. According to her, their season was “already done.” The Engabao resident noted, “We understand that some of you think we need to [address] everything that happens in our lives but we are humans that have the choice to choose.” Evelin also declared they “weren’t on the contract at that time,” so the ceremony was completely about her and Corey, not about the TV show. Evelin then went on to address the rumors from Laura, though she didn’t call out her co-star by name. “Until someone I trusted, I shared this news with and she went on twisted. She said that it was way before, she created all these rumors that we were lying,” Evelin shared. “Come on, I’m not an actress so how can I freaking pretend the proposal and everything that we’ve been through,” questioned Evelin.

“All of that was completely real, we are not fake,” Evelin insisted. She explained that when they decided to finally share everything, they wanted it to be part of their story. Through 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Corey and Evelin’s families and friends will find out about their wedding. Evelin believes it was their right to keep it private. She hopes fans will respect their decision and send her and Corey their love and support as they share their special journey on 90 Day Fiancé.
