While the Potthast family is no stranger to controversy on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Libby Castravet’s mother Pamela Putnam recently made headlines for hateful social media remarks she made. The mother of Libby stated that the rainbow should not be a symbol of pride, since it was a promise from God. Her comment upset many franchise fans even though Pamela does not appear on TLC. It also left 90 Day Fiancé viewers curious about Pamela.
Fans surprisingly came to Libby’s defense this week after her mother’s controversial views were shared to Reddit. Though many viewers dislike Libby, her husband Andrei, and her dramatic family, fans don’t think it’s fair to hold Libby accountable for her mother’s words or actions. Libby took to her Instagram to make it clear that she did not agree with what her mother shared on social media. While some viewers thought Libby was trying to save face since she is rumored to be angling for a spin-off show for her family, others thought she was being genuine for once.
Pamela describes herself on Instagram as a “Talent Agent/Agency Owner at Stellar Talent and Image.” Her business is listed as, “a faith-based boutique agency representing actors, models, singers, and dancers ages 5 & older.” Therefore, Pamela’s career path differs from the Potthast family house-flipping business that Andrei is currently working for alongside the unhappy Potthast siblings and family patriarch Chuck. Pamela is very rooted in religion and frequently shares posts to make her faith known to her followers. Though she said she does not fear what people think, Pamela did turn off the comments after sharing her post about the rainbow. In addition to being very religious, Pamela also takes pride in being an American citizen. Though Libby stated that she disagreed with Pamela’s views, the mother does appear close to some family members. Pamela recently celebrated her oldest son, David Potthast, and his wife and three daughters. She also appears to spend time with Charlie and Meg Potthast and their kids. Pamela tagged her children Becky, David, Jenn, Dan, Libby, and Charlie on a recent Mother’s Day post, as well as Charlie’s wife Meg. Meanwhile, Pamela has moved on since her relationship with Chuck and appears happily married. She recently enjoyed dinner in Santa Monica with her husband during their vacation.
While Pamela does not appear in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, she has been dragged into her family’s drama. Her daughters Becky and Libby recently threw fists during an ill-fated yacht outing. Meanwhile, Jenn, Becky and Charlie are locked in an unhappy battle against Libby and Andrei. Since Libby always defends her husband, it’s likely that the siblings will see a rift in the near future. Andrei boasted that he would expose Libby’s siblings on upcoming episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, while Libby said her siblings had it coming due to the way they treated her husband.
