New screenshots from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Wrath of the Druids DLC have surfaced, showcasing a look at the sickle weapon and a werewolf.

A fresh batch of screenshots from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Wrath of the Druids DLC has emerged online, confirming the advent of sickles as a new weapon and werewolves. Ubisoft originally planned to deploy the title’s first major DLC expansion on April 29; however, a desire to further refine the experience forced the development team to delay Wrath of the Druids by two weeks. It will now go live on Thursday, May 13.
When the expansion arrives next month, players will be dropped onto a new map based in 9th Century Ireland. While traversing the region, Eivor will try to forge alliances with Gaelic nobles in an effort to increase the Raven Clan’s influence. Wrath of the Druids’ Ireland location also holds a dark secret that players can expect to unearth throughout the DLC, a darkness revolving around an ancient druidic cult. Apparently, the mysterious sect is not the only thing sulking around the country’s backwoods.
Twitter user Aggiornamenti Lumia shared a set of three new Wrath of the Druids screenshots in a recent post. Two of the shots appear to show Eivor donning gear specific to the DLC. One of these very same images also depicts Eivor with the previously confirmed sickle weapon attached to her belt. The most interesting shot showcases male Eivor in battle with what appears to be members of the mysterious druid cult, but a new enemy type also stands front and center – a fully formed werewolf. This particular creature does not seem as though it’s a friend of Eivor’s, either.

As mentioned above, the sickle as a new weapon type previously received confirmation. Fans were treated to the news late last month, thanks to Wrath of the Druids’ leaked Trophy list. Interestingly enough, the leaked Trophies also suggest Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s second expansion – The Siege of Paris – will introduce the short sword as an equippable item.
In The Siege of Paris DLC, players will embark on a journey to Frankia to infiltrate the fortified city. The expansion should arrive sometime during the summer months, though it’s unclear if Wrath of the Druids’ two-week delay will impact Ubisoft’s internal release plans for the Paris-set content.
