Best Animated Feature was introduced during the 74th Academy Awards in 2001 due to the increased numbers of animated films that were entering theaters every year. While Shrek walked home with the inaugural award, it was only a couple of years before Pixar began to dominate. Today, Pixar is the studio with the highest number of Best Animated Feature awards.

Because Toy Story 4 is up for the award yet again at the upcoming Oscars ceremony on Feb. 24, we thought it was time to look at every Pixar film that has won Best Picture so far. It’s time to dive into things and applaud animation’s best.

9 Finding Nemo

Though Monsters, Inc. was nominated for Best Animated Feature in 2001, Finding Nemo was the first Pixar film to actually win the coveted title in 2003.

8 The Incredibles

7 Ratatouille

Inside Out focuses on Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger: the five little characters who live inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind. After Riley has trouble adjusting to her new San Francisco home, it is up to the emotions to get her back on track.

Though the film didn’t win Best Original Screenplay, it did score Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards.

1 Coco

The most recent Pixar film to win Best Animated Feature was 2017’s Coco.

This fantasy, based on the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead, tells the story of the titular boy who hopes to become a famous musician. Though Coco’s family has banned music, he might just get the opportunity to make his dreams come true after falling into the Land of the Dead and learning that his great-great-grandfather is actually his idol.

In addition to winning Best Animated Feature, Coco won Best Original Song for “Remember Me.”
