Throughout his unfortunate stay in Bright Falls, Alan Wake spends a lot of time shooting the Taken enemies who have been possessed by the Dark Presence. But whenever he’s not blasting away evil lumberjacks and park rangers, he’s taking out his frustration on poor innocent cans. Yes, for some inexplicable reason, Alan seems to really dislike cans. Especially when they’re stacked in the shape of a pyramid.
In each of the episodes of Alan Wake Remastered, there are 12 can pyramids that you can find and shoot. It may seem like a waste of ammo, but it’s a collectible so you have to do it if you want those sweet achievements. Here’s where you can find all of Alan Wake’s can pyramids.
Episode 1
The first can pyramid will practically be given to you. During the tutorial, you’ll reach a point where the giant light in the sky will hand you a gun (it’s not as weird as it sounds.) Once you’re past the gun part of the tutorial, the cans will be sitting on the fence near the box filled with ammo and you can easily shoot them.
When you reach the lumber yard, you’ll get to a section where you have to move a log lift to form a bridge. After you’ve crossed the makeshift bridge, go to the right and you’ll find the can pyramid on a table overlooking the yard next to some lawn chairs.
Episode 2
Shortly after defending the viewing platform with Alice’s kidnapper, you’ll come across a section of the forest that’s littered with bear traps. If you go to the left of this path, you’ll reach a cliff where you’ll see a large house with a light coming from the second-floor window. You’ll find the can pyramid on a barrel in this area.
Once you’ve gotten the truck out of the locked garage at the campgrounds, head straight down the road until you reach a truck hauling logs that’s blocking the way. Drive through the field on the left and keep going until you reach a light near a trailer and a portable toilet. The cans will be on a picnic table.
Episode 3
After Agent Nightingale decides to take a few shots at you at the radio station, you’ll stumble through the woods and reach a bunch of dilapidated shacks. The can pyramid will be in the shack on the left overlooking the cliff.
This can pyramid is found shortly after your disastrous cable car ride where you’ll fight off flocks of angry birds. Head up the hill, fight off some Taken enemies, watch out for a train car that falls from the sky, and then head right to the cable car platform. The cans will be on the railing.
Episode 4
Once you find your way out of the hedge maze, you’ll eventually come across some evil, darkness-infused gates as well as an evil wheelbarrow that you’ll have to destroy. When they’re gone, head forward a bit and you’ll see this can pyramid on the wall to your right.
When you smash open the barn doors with the Viking boat, you’ll be in an area filled with junk and broken hydro poles with loose wires hanging from them. Near the second wire crackling with electricity will be a wooden spool with the can pyramid on top.
Episode 5
As you travel through the streets with Sheriff Breaker, you’ll go past a bunch of portable toilets and then press a button to open a parking lot gate. Head to the right and the can pyramid will be on top of a food truck.
Upon meeting Cynthia Weaver, you’ll be tasked with cutting the power to the transformer yard. You’ll need to fight off some Taken and then operate some buttons so you can use floodgates as bridges to reach the power switch. The can pyramid is hard to miss as it’s right next to the power switch.
Episode 6
When you arrive at the motel where Agent Nightingale was staying, head to the parking lot. You’ll find the can pyramid sitting on a wall not too far from the motel office.
Get to the scrapyard and there will be a building where you’ll find a hunting rifle. Head up the stairs to the second floor and you’ll see a button that you can press. There’ll be an enemy that will enter from a door on the left. After you kill him, go through that door, and outside on the railing will be the final can pyramid that you need to find.
Congratulations, you’ve officially shot every can in Alan Wake. You must really hate those cans.
