Remedy Entertainment has revealed that the upcoming Alan Wake Remastered may have some references to other Remedy titles for returning players to sniff out. Alan Wake was developed and published before Remedy had grand plans of a connected universe across all of its future games, meaning that Alan Wake Remastered could possibly have some new content.

This news comes from Axios Gaming co-author Stephen Totilo who spoke with Remedy communications director Thomas Puha in a recent interview. When asked whether Alan Wake Remastered will have callbacks to previous Remedy titles, Puha said “Definitely pay attention by playing the remaster, is what we’re going to say,” hinting at new content which will better tie Alan Wake to Remedy’s connected universe.

Remedy Entertainment is responsible for both Quantum Break and Control, the latter of which recently received some Alan Wake flavored DLC last year in the form of the AWE expansion. It’s clear the team at Remedy is ramping up its attempts to create a connected universe in its games, even having multiple other games currently in development which will likely tie into both Control and Alan Wake.

For now, PlayStation owners will finally have the chance to play one of the best horror titles of the Xbox 360/PS3 generation, with the original having been an Xbox exclusive until this year. It was revealed during Sony’s latest PlayStation Showcase that Alan Wake Remastered is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 5th, and will include the base game as well as both expansions.

If you play Alan Wake Remastered and find yourself itching for more, it’s looking like you won’t have to wait for long. Industry insider Jeff Grubb has recently claimed that Alan Wake 2 is being planned at Remedy and has already been greenlit. Remedy is also rumored to be working with Epic Games in regards to publishing, likely making the game an Epic Store exclusive whenever it launches. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we hear an official announcement.
