Alec Ludford’s fiancée, Stephanie, suddenly passed away this weekend, stunning the Twitch community who followed the couple. Stephanie was tragically diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia, a form of bone marrow cancer – and bravely fought the disease until the end.
Stephanie has a Twitch account, SkeeterMagavin, with around 6000 followers, but left most of the streaming to Alec as she transitioned into more serious treatment. Alec made it routine to keep his optimistic spirit throughout his streams, often “going live” from the couple’s hospital room to interact with viewers and provide updates. Alec is a fairly successful streamer in his own right, just shy of 80,000 followers; He has mainly focused on IRL content, passionate about beauty that outdoors life has to offer.
His stream ended up playing a pivotal role in the couple’s lives as viewers were quick to offer their support and encouragement throughout the rough journey that Stephanie’s cancer initiated. Followers and streamers alike generously donated to the two in order to help ease the financial burden caused by medical bills, but Alec (being the outstanding person he is) emphasized his thankfulness for his audience’s consistent presence during the tough times over everything else.
Alec stirred up some wholesome attention when he proposed to Stephanie while broadcasting on Twitch, asking her to marry him in a hospital room. She agreed, of course, and the happy couple enjoyed entering into the next phase of their relationship.
When the terrible news of Stephanie’s recent emergency broke, Alec was in Virginia – away his fiancée’s location in Washington. He was quick to try and secure an immediate flight while updating followers on Twitter, but unfortunately the tragedy was extremely sudden. The internet responded to the news by pouring out their love; Alec received it with gratitude.
Cancer is an absolute monstrosity and it unfortunately affects all-too-many lives across the world. These two are some of the best that Twitch has to offer, always enhancing the content on the platform with their quality character.
