A classic and stalwart Avenger, Black Widow is receiving a tribute to her various costumes throughout Marvel Comics history on the variant cover of Avengers Forever #2. The former KGB agent has long been a fixture in the pages of Marvel books, and her look has evolved over the years, Now, all those looks are on display in one glorious cover.

Natasha Romanov, better known as Black Widow, made her debut as a Russian spy alongside her partner Boris Turganov in Marvel’s Tales of Suspense #52 by Stan Lee, Don Rico, and Don Heck in 1964. Her official hero costume wouldn’t make an appearance until Tales of Suspense #64, when she returned again, officially donning the Black Widow title. Although intended as a side character, Black Widow’s popularity amongst fans led her to become a regular in Iron Man comics and later a member of the Avengers.

Now, Marvel artist Russel Dauterman has revealed a Black Widow variant cover art on Twitter, featuring the spy’s various costume designs throughout the years. Dauterman has drawn variant covers for titles like Marvel’s Marauders series, X-Men #1, Inferno #3, Excalibur #18, Hellions #3, S.W.O.R.D. #8. Those similarly featured hero costume timelines of Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Rogue, Psylocke, and Storm. Natasha is posed in a mid-air jump with her gauntlets ready to fire at her target. This pose is befitting of the Avenger, since throughout the films, Black Widow’s iconic poses are a staple to her character and earn her the nickname “poser” by her sister Yelena in the Black Widow solo film. Natasha’s pose isn’t the only reference to her film; her all-white outfit is also featured on the cover. The suit first appeared in the Black Widow: Deadly Origin comic as camouflage for her time in Russia and a very similar design was seen in her MCU film. Her undercover outfit in Tales of Suspense #52 is also seen, showing readers a mesh neckline black dress, and black veil hat. The debut strapless short jumpsuit with lace Black Widow costume from Tales of Suspense #64 can also be seen underneath her undercover spy outfit.

A few other classic Black Widow outfits include the all-grey suit with spider symbol from Uncanny X-Men; the long sleeve half hoodie from Black Widow Vol. 1: The Ties That Bind; Demon Days: Mariko #1’s Japanese style Black Widow uniform; and her newest War Machine armor from Avengers #28 that came with her new codename: The War Widow.

The variant cover features so much more of Natasha’s Black Widow suits but her most memorable one has to be the classic all-black, front zipper jumpsuit from her MCU debut in Iron Man 2. No matter what she’s wearing, Black Widow will always be a hero and fans can see the evolution of her design in Avengers Forever #2.
