A new Pokemon GO research task has arrived, and with it comes tons of opportunities to collect new Pokemon, items, and more.

The Seeing Double research task event in Pokemon GO coincides with Seedot Community Day. Players are able to complete a set of tasks that will result in the opportunity to collect a Shiftry, and perhaps a shiny one at that.

Seedot Community Day will run from May 24, 11am to 5pm local time. These means that players will have about half the day to complete the challenges, similar to Abra Community Day last month. Fans will be able to purchase the Seeing Double research task for $1 to complete, and the challenges themselves are heavy on the Seedot fanfare.

Seeing Double Research Task Challenges

The research task is broken up into four parts, with three challenges in each. Because players can try to tackle this research task during Seedot Community Day, many of the challenges will be much easier. As even though Niantic has added more legendaries to Pokemon Raids, the day will be filled with Seedots. Once a player completes one set they will be able to move onto the next set.

The first set of challenges includes three tasks. Power up Pokemon 3 times, catch 10 Seedot, and make 5 nice throws.

The second set of challenges asks players to catch 15 Seedot, transfer 10 Pokemon, and evolve 3 Seedot.

With the third set of challenges, players must make 3 great curveball throws, evolve 1 Nuzleaf, and transfer 10 more Pokemon.

The final challenges should be auto completed, meaning players will instantly be able to collect the rewards.

In total, the rewards for all of the challenges are 10 Pokeballs, 3 Incense, 5 Golden Razz Berry, 5 Silver Pinap Berry, 1 Poffin, 1 Rocket Radar, 3 Rare Candy, 4000 XP, 13000 Stardust, 60 Seedot Candy, 2 Seedot encounters, 1 Nuzleaf encounter, and 1 Shiftry encounter. Additionally, the encounters have the chance of being a shiny. Because shiny Pokemon are extremely rare and popular, the added bonus of getting one in this event is enticing.

In some previous challenges, players who missed out on Pokemon events were able to buy their way back in, so time will tell if this is the case with the Seeing Double research task. However, the best day to complete the tasks is clearly on the day in which Seedots are everywhere.

Niantic made changes to Pokemon GO to combat COVID-19, and thus far it seems to have worked well. The company is doing its best to keep one of the most social games of the generation afloat during times of quarantine.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
