The Texas native has boldly paraded around in daring fashions, while unapologetically staying true to herself.

When Kelly first auditioned for American Idol season one, she was a quirky and bubbly small-town girl who was eager to win. The future Grammy winner Kelly auditioned in 2002 while wearing a denim outfit that she made herself. She said she would be a fashion designer if a career in music didn’t work out. Kelly’s style has drastically evolved since her early days in the industry. She’s transformed over the years, by choosing clothing and accessories that reflect her own evolution as a woman and performer.

When Kelly was an up-and-coming artist, her style was the epitome of 2000s fashion. She wore dresses with jeans underneath, platform sandals, crop tops, and her iconic chunky blonde highlights. As her career flourished, her style matured, and Kelly left the 2000s fashion in the past. She leveled up her wardrobe and bounced between brunette and blonde hair. The multi-platinum-selling artist has also experimented with different hairstyles and hair lengths. She even shaved her head on one side at one point. When the pic was snapped, she was coaching on The Voice. Back in 2013, she had brown hair with bangs.

Kelly has been known to rock some bold and elaborate styles while working as a well-paid coach on The Voice. The dress pictured above became so popular with viewers that it was trending online. The sequined black and white dress with oversized white triangular pieces around the collar became one of the top trending female celebrity looks of 2019. Whether fans think it’s a hit or miss, it’s a dress that definitely turned heads.

2020 – Angelic In High Fashion

Kelly typically wears many patterns, but she decided to look more angelic while wearing this dress on The Voice. The pop singer wore a white Vetements dress with silver and gold ornate jewelry. She pulled the look together with glam makeup, including a bold and dark lip. She chose a half-up half-down hairdo. Kelly also wore a gold and silver belt to accentuate her waistline.

Kelly has become one of the most successful American Idol winners and is now a talk show host. She launched The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019. She wore a Fleetwood Mac t-shirt with a high-waisted leather skirt for the season two premiere. Kelly paired the outfit with chunky black boots, black nail polish, and bold red lipstick. This may have been an ode to the rocker chic style she favored in the early 2000s. Kelly has ditched the crop tops and rocks designer clothing, but she is still the same bubbly person we met in 2002.
