Animal Crossing New Horizons’ Happy Home Paradise DLC gives players who love interior design the opportunity to create vacation homes for characters on the Happy Home Archipelago. Villagers will visit the island’s beach and fantasize about what their very own vacation homes would be like, and players can make their daydreams come true by designing rooms based on their themes and specifications. With a catalog of furniture, wallpaper, and new ceiling decorations, it’s easy to build something that will delight the client.
The Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons also allows players to design vacation homes for their island residents. Once the player accepts a job at Paradise Planning, they’ll be able to invite their residents to the archipelago and build them a dream vacation home of their very own.
Not only does this allow players to do some interior designing for their favorite villagers, but it also gives them a chance to design their yards and set the time and weather. Once the vacation home is built, players can visit the residents there whether they’re on the clock or not. Vacation homes can be remodeled any time, but villagers will occasionally have specific remodel requests as well.
How To Invite Animal Crossing Island Residents To The Happy Home Archipelago
After downloading the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC and completing their first design job, new NPC Lottie will pay players 6,000 Poki for their efforts. Poki is a currency like Bells that can be used exclusively to purchase new items on the archipelago. Players can also earn more Poki by taking photographs of their vacation homes to add to the Paradise Portfolio.
Poki can be spent at the Gift Shop in the Paradise Planning office, where players will find boxes of souvenir chocolate in the left corner. Souvenir chocolate can be given to island residents to invite them to the archipelago so players can design their vacation homes. One box costs 800 Poki, but buying three in bulk only costs 2,000 Poki.
Players can return to their island with the souvenir chocolate and give it to whichever villager they’d like to invite to the archipelago, but only if they haven’t already given that villager a gift that day. The souvenir will prompt them to ask about the player’s new job, and the player can invite them to the archipelago.
Once there, the player’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager will join the others visiting the Happy Home archipelago beach. The player must be wearing their work uniform in order to ask their villager about designing a vacation home. They can change into their uniform by letting Lottie know that they’re ready to work. After returning to the beach and finding their island resident, players will now have the option to take them on as a client.
