Ninji claims he isn’t Animal Crossing: New Horizons tech support, but he might as well be. The Twitter sleuth and ACNH dataminer introduced a new tool to his community last week that, ostensibly, can predict your island’s weather.

It’s no secret that the weather on your island is closely tied to many of the game’s fundamental mechanics. Wishing on shooting stars or reeling in select species of rare fish, for instance, are contingent upon specific weather conditions: stars only burn trails across the night sky when the weather is clear and certain fish only visit your island’s shores when it’s raining.

Waiting around for the next rainstorm can add some unnecessary stress to a game that is touted as a stress-free experience. But Ninji’s new tool seeks to make nail-biting speculation obsolete when it comes to charting out your next week in Nook-sponsored paradise.

Naming the tool “MeteoNook,” Ninji shared a link to the app via Twitter. “Following 4 days of intense work, here is MeteoNook, a browser-based weather app for #ACNH,” he states as part of the unveiling. “Find your island’s weather seed by entering known data points and get down-to-the-second forecasts for any date, including meteor shower, rainbows, fog, and aurora.”

Free to use, the tool was accepted graciously by the ACNH community. Many users were so pleased with MeteoNook, in fact, that they began asking for Ninji’s PayPal information. Ninji accepts donations via links on the homepage of his website Wuffs.org but is reluctant “to put anything on the app itself,” out of fear of seeming greedy. “Although, I’ve had a few people ask on Discord as well,” he says in response to a request for information on Twitter.

MeteoNook is certainly a hit, but the tool isn’t the first Animal Crossing aid that Ninji has offered the community. The Scottish dataminer regularly releases strategy-defining information. Barely a month ago, Ninji shared the schedule by which Animal Crossing NPC vendors visit your island—giving players an inside look at the algorithm that determines when NPCs like Celeste, Wisp, and Redd will appear on their island.

Using insider information like Ninji’s scheduling tips in tandem with the Meteo Nook app will make planning your next night of stargazing a whole lot simpler.
